Okay, they have an "old guys" wakesurfing thread. But let's face it, being good at wakeboarding is a hell of a lot harder than being good at surfing. And as our bodies age, it's getting harder and harder to go big on the wakeboard. So, I wanna give credit where credit is due: To older guys/gals that rip it on a wakeboard. Let's prove that the over-40 crowd can do pic-worthy stuff on a board besides surf!!!

The rules are simple. Post up your best pics of wakeboard tricks done by the "over 40" crowd.

I figured A lot of "masters" is 40 and up, so 40 sounds good to me.

I've ridden once this year. I spend too much time coaching and driving.

Ok, how about two old guys, both of us are 44.
No big air, but I think we're on par with the mid 40s crowd who think they're still 20.

Get behind the boat man! I KNOW that you can ride. I'd love to see some of your pics!

(hell, I'd love to get some coaching too because I plateaued back in my 20's! But time/money/passion has been elsewhere)

Looks like you guys were having a blast! And I did see a surface 360. That counts for something!

Ya, we're just learning, truth be told we're still trying to go W2W. It's scary with all the broken bones stories and chipped teeth and stuff, found in the "guts to go invert" thread.

Lol..... Here is the one pic that my wife took of me riding. We have ton of pics and video of our son riding though be that is what we put all our energy/focus towards.

With the long weekend coming up maybe I'll have a go before it gets too rough.

Agreed... What ballast and speed are you using in that picture? Very clean.

Thanks. I'm not 100% sure but should be 20.5 with about 25% ballast in front and rear.

Occasionally, but I mainly surf now at 48.

Headed for 41 this year... After years of skating, moguls, snowboarding, the knees and back are shot to hell... This is the whole reason I am buying a Moomba Outback V tomorrow; so I can wakesurf and start giving the body a break. Landing way out in the flats is just painful now. It's a bitch getting older. Pics to come.

Couple summers ago, but its a guy over 40 now...LOL
Seriously not to many wake boarding pictures of me since mostly all I do it follow the boat. 2 Summers ago I was working on wake to wake, caught an adge so back I came out of one binding, my vest was unzipped and covering my face, wind got knocked out of me.

I recovered and took 1 more pull to prove I had heart, then I haven't ridden since. LOL

Little blurry.

This is what happens when "old guys" with desk jobs (aka me) who don't realize they're not in the same shape they were 20 years ago try to go w2w showing the kids how it's done or do tricks for the camera.

I respect that LOL.

I am more then sure my weight keeps me from the wake to wake, and is a good reason other tricks are hard to do. The board is sized for me though, 141 board. It feels decent riding in the flats and its a master of the catching an edge..Or maybe I'm a master of it..

I will have some first-hand experience in the next couple of weeks, but you guys should check out the new Nomad from Slingshot. I'll test out the 160 and report back.

I had to go look that board up because I was thinking Man thats a big board at 160. Looks like that is just a larger board by design.

When I got mine a few years ago 141 was considered a big board, but its also pretty heavy. I have 2012 bindings which are the newer lighter style. I do want to start wake boarding more though, just need to man up a bit more.

I ride a 139 Ronix Mana that I got on sale due to it being like two years old. Wish I could have found a 141 or 142 version but oh well. 141 is not that big IMO.

Maybe that's part of my whole problem I have a board that's to small for me and it makes riding harder.

I removed the center track fins to make it more lose to allow it to spin easier, made learning switch a lot easier because I could slowly rotate into it.

I am so tempted to buy that Slingshot lol. I think I will have to see if I can demo one from AWS this summer.

I agree 141 is on the smaller side. I just picked up a 142 and I'm approx 6 ft 180 lbs.

David, I had a 138 and like you, felt like I'd benefit from something larger. I grabbed an outlet board from evogear.com.

I agree, the Nomad might be just the ticket for ya man. Go big (on board size) or go home! haha.

Seriously though, there's a couple good threads on WW about that board and the riders have nothing but good things to say about it.

Go buy one of these for under $300 shipped. They don't have the 160 right now but even the smallest 150 will be substantially bigger than any other wakeboard you will have ridden: http://blemboard.com/collections/wakeboards/products/2015-slingshot-nomad-blem

I dont like those slingshots. Rode one last year and my face go introduced to the water of keystone lake at a speed that would make .223 remington seem slow....

I've taken a couple of nasty diggers on my slingshot. I love the feel of the board but landings can be sketchy...
