Does anyone have thoughts or comments on the best way to ballast up a 2014 möbius lsv for surfing? I've got the flow surf system installed.

I have upgraded the rear lockers to 750's.

I have an extra 400 that i have been using in back surf side when not a lot of people in the boat. Also have extra 150 bag for front on top of stock center ballast.

I've been only filling one back side locker, leaving other side empty.... Is this the best way or should I have weight in both sides?

I deploy the flow system on the opposite side. It cleans up the wave but I don't notice much difference between the 3 settings honestly.

The wave is big and steep.... But I was in a buddies new mastercraft x25 today
They ballast up everything and then use their surf gates and wake plate to adjust wave

I've never Ballasted up both rear lockers and wanted to get peoples thoughts.

Try both rear ballast full and dump offside rear ballast until you have a clean wave. You may not need to dump any since you have a 400 on the rear surf side seat.

You may need more front weight to keep your flow from being put too far under water.

I would put the 400lbs bag in the bow. Deploy the flow on the none surf side. Place two extra people on the surf side. If you don't have two extra people drain some ballast out of the none surf side for about 2-3 min. Take notes of how you have it set up, snap some pictures and we can help you get it set up!

Btw the flow is designed so you can run even weight and surf on either side. However the flow works best with bow weight, and if you have an extra 200-300lbs on the surf side.

I have a 2014 Mobius LSV w/o the flow surf and fill the surf side rear ballast, center ballast, put a 440 lb bag in the bow and go 10-10.5 MPH. With only 3 people in the boat (including driver) i am getting a nice surfable wake. I trim it all the way down for a longer, short height wave and all the way up for a shorter, tall height wave. You can play with the trim for your liking though.

Flow surf is being installed this week and I will update on wave.

Hope this helps...

Does anyone have pictures of the surf wave on a LSV without flow and listed vs the wave behind the boat with the manual flow to show the difference? It is hard to compare because all pictures are taken from difference spots. I have a '14 LSV without flow and am considering getting it installed if I can see that it will provide a substantially larger and longer wave. We only surf regular and are already running 1100 lb in the rear locker, 450 under the port seats and 750 lb ibs in the front. Am I going to be that much happier with the manual flow system? How big is the difference in the wave? I do understand the convenience but am look at it from a wave size standpoint. Please let me know.

I think my wave was bigger last yr with just 1100 and no flow, but now the wave and pocket are much longer. If I messed with the wakeplate I cud probably get it taller again. In my case, I added IBS and flow, so I can't say which made the most difference. Having the boat balanced and easier to steer is a bonus, just not sure how much $$$ that is worth. Will look for some pics!!!
