I haven't been surfing much this year, but can't believe I was able to save it, I'm really far back there!

How do you have your boat weighted in that video? Is that your 2006 Mobius LSV?

Yep, 06..
1100 rear, 400 under seat, 400 center, 650 IBS and a spare 750 in the front Surf side. Helps to have the boat leaning more, sometimes a add a little to the opposite side.. Maybe 100 or so..

That is a pretty epic save. I'm sure your wave has a ton of push though with 3300 pounds of ballast!
Nice pumping though!

Awesome! Learned to surf this year behind my '06 and it is the best thing ever. Man, you're hauling a lot of weight!

Gotta go big!
I was pretty gased after that, we wake boarded before so my legs were shot..

Easy, just tear your ACL and your insurance will pay for it..:p

Hey, my wife had a full ACL reconstruction (filleting her hamstring to make a new ACL that they molly screw into place while trimming off the parts of the meniscus that she destroyed) and she didn't get the cool knee brace!!! (her surgeon actually isn't a fan of the braces as he says they really can't conclusively say if they really help or not).
BUT, she did get the parking pass that gets us the prime parking at a crowded boat launch when she parks the truck!

That was truly awesome. I've only seen kids make saves from that far back, then they give you the "Huh, WHAT?" look when everyone is cheering for them.
I'm thinking start the knee brace now before I blow/tear something. Try to prolong what I've got. Surfed goofy just a little yesterday and the bad knee was really not happy with me changing sides like that.

You don't run any ballast on the starboard side.

I do since replacing my swim platform, helps push the rear end down...

The brace definitely helps me, there's no study showing that but I can tell you it does from person experience.
I used to surf without the brace until last year I was attempting a 360 and my upper body spun around while the surf board and my foot stayed in place. It was pretty scary, same thing happened playing sand volleyball so I always wear it. May not help in during a wake 2 wake jump(which I think what the surgeons believe) but it does give additional support to prevent low impact/spin issues.

The best thing I did was get a personal trainer, I go weekly to improve my knee/leg strength and stability. I really focus on getting my VMO muscle to fire when walking, that keeps the knee in alignment and stops the pain. It's made a huge improvement in my knee pain and boating sports but I've found if you stop working out it comes back pretty quick.. :(

Makes sense. my wife tore hers at Mount Hood Meadows. At least she can say she was skiing a black diamond run. It's been a huge bummer though because it's a 9 month recovery. She's super diligent about her physical therapy though (she's a former pro ice skater so she's used to trainers). Unfortunately, it's meant ZERO time for her behind the boat. She was just getting to a point where she was getting up and line riding a bit (which is HUGE considering she had to overcome a big fear of open water) and now she's having to wait until next summer while she watches lots of our friends getting up and riding for the first time... And our bodies don't heal so quick anymore.

She can have your doctor prescribe a brace, just from a confidence level it's worth it.. CTI is what I have..

How much you running on starboard side with your new platform?

200? I think the old platform weighed more and pushed the rear deeper. I really haven't surfed much to be sure..

Very nice save!! that is a nice lookin wave you have there.... in my 05 LSV obviously a different hull i ran the following
100 in the rear as full as it would go ~950 lbs
500 in the floor
650 IBS in the nose
750 on surf side seat
400 in the walkway to the nose to get that kind of wave...
Now i get that wave with my Mondo with 750 rears 500 floor and 650 nose...

I have the same boat and my wave looks nothing like that, real clean behind the boat but not long like yours. I am slowly upgrading my ballast system to be closer to yours. Right now I have 800 rear surf side (just added it) 400 rear non surf side and the standard GIII center bag, is that 400 or 650? I have an extra 400 bag to throw around but have not used it. Based on your setup I'm thinking I at least should put the spare 400 in the bow surf side, any other suggestions? without breaking the bank!

Keep an eye out for used 750, I bought several before I upgraded to 1100 and and IBS and just filled them with a tsunami pump. You need more bow weight to lengthen the pocket...
