Saw those on the Mojo video and was thinking I would like some myself. I recently bought a SeaDek pad that I cut in a couple pieces and put one on port and one on starboard side gunwales, but forward of the rear lockers as that is where we are stepping on and off mainly. Also, one of the tower arms fell down when my wife was putting down the tower and chipped the gelcoat bad, so wanted to cover up the repair I did on that and prevent another chip.

I am thinking about these too.

For me I would need to move my rear pop up cleats. I like the idea of remounting them on the sides. I think this will become a winter upgrade for me.

I know the nonskid carpet that matches this gunwhale step pad will not fit in the 13' or 14' mojo due the different shape and length of the 15' boat. I called the dealership to find out since the nonskid carpet looks really cool. I did not think to ask about the gunwhale step pad. Good question. It looks really cool as well. Just by looking at it, I would think you could order it and trim to fit if the pad was too long. And If you had to trim it, it should not affect the Moomba lettering, it would just trim some of the design off the end. I may order it, and if it is too long for my 13' MOJO, I will just trim and apply.

You will have to move your pop up cleats to the side of the boat. Good thing the step pad will cover the holes.

Jason has the gunwale step pads on his new 2015 LSV.

So, yes, you should be able to order them and they will fit perfectly. Remember that you still need to move your cleats to the side of the gunwale. Good thing the pad will cover the old holes.

Any Mondo owners out there want to do a custom purchase in bulk? This is a huge safety issue for my boat given the configuration of my dock, everyone is forced to step on slipper gunwales at the moment.

I'm assuming Mondo's would have a different length/size than an LSV, but someone want to correct me? Also, SeaDek isn't skier's choice supplier, can someone remember the other company that OEM's their product?

David,

Thank you for the interest in SeaDek. If you would like you can send us your desired artwork and we will determine if we can fit it on a 4” wide pad. Please keep in mind that our custom pads start at $159.00 +shipping and custom logos start at $50.00. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Hi Kriley- 6ft long seems overkill, when I measured my gunwale from the tower back to the transom, it's approximately 46" (give or take how much of the gunwale you wan to actually cover end to end). What exactly is the product you are pricing? Is it for the standard fish ruler, or for a custom seadek pad?

Ask her to quote you the pad for the 2015 LSV and you won't have to cut anything. The top deck is the same from 2013 to 2015. I know they make it since I posted a link to it in post 7 of this thread. Here is the link again.

Not to put a damper on this, but I saw the pads today on a new Mondo. The 2015 swim platform pads are black with gray lettering. The 2013 and 2014 swim platform pads are gray with black lettering. Look at the first pic in this post. The gunwale step pads are black with gray lettering. I am sure it isn't a big deal. I just wanted you guys to be aware. Ok so I went cheap and easy instead of the high expense custom gunwale pad. Sea dek would only do a 4 inch wide custom which I think it would be tight. So I got this grey over black faux teak to match the swim dek pad.
Only 37 bucks for 4 pads.

Your Mondo ones are a direct fit because there is NO hull changes from 14-15

The LSV should also be a Direct Fit from all the newer TOP deck models starting in 13 I believe. When ever they actually increased the top deck Height.

The Mojo I have been looking into, I have been told by the Dealer the 15 23ft Mojo has a slightly different gunnel and the pads are not a direct fit. I am trying to find out the differences on these and the pre 15 Mojo.

I doubt many will stock them, you generally order them with a Boat purchase.

I got the quote on my Mojo ones, the word is they are a little shorter, but can't be that much shorter seeing how the boat is only 6 inches different in length and not all 6 is in the rear lol.

I will post some pics and such when they come in. They had to order them direct from SC.

The bow pads was the main reason I purchased. I don't know how any girl gets off the boat safely without it.

Thanks man, I think they should come standard on all the boats. It's a no brainer!

They do.

If you buy a Supra.

No way can SC make every "nice to have" standard and keep the price point where it's at.

It's a $300 upgrade and I think it's a safety thing. I'm not asking for a touch screen lol

Saw these the other day at the local dealer. Really nice and pretty inexpensive if you are looking for something.

People are not allowed to jump off the front of my boat LOL.

Only I am allowed to do that LOL.

They do look great. We have the new ones for the back now but they are not installed. Too busy with house honey doos, and new truck bling.

Anybody get the Mojo ones? I wonder if they would work on an XLV?

I bought the 15 Mojo gunnels for my 13 Mojo, just have to trim the length a little at the tower side.

Everything else matched up perfect.

You will need to look at a Mojo gunnel because they ahve a curved section near the rear where the body wraps around to the rear. IDK if the XLV has the same body lines.

Cleats can be moved. The pad will cover the holes.

Wanting to do this mod. What is the easiest way to get the small ones off that came on my 14? Also what glue are you guys using to put the new ones down? thx

mmandley
05-21-2015, 12:14 AM
I plan to use a heat gun to heat them up, peel it off, then use wax, or goo off or what ever that stuff is.

As for the new ones they have self adhesive backing.

Removing the old ones were surprisingly easy. I just picked a corner and started to peel up. As long as you pulled fast, there was no residue left over. I used goof off to get the slight adhesive left over, took no more than 2 minutes. After I cleaned and dried the gunwales, I laid down the new pads and they look freakin awesome. Total time was 15 minutes.

Finally got around to posting a pic of the new gunwale step pads. Not only do they look great, but they do a great job of increasing safety for on/off boarding and kids jumping off the sides w/o cracking their heads open. This is a must-have for any Mondo owners that want to upgrade their boat with little investment.

I had a group buy with Atlanta Marine, I beleive it was less than 100 per side for the LSV
