76 or so in our two favorite lakes. Lake Superior is still high 50's, low 60's depending on where you are, and the wind direction... Although we did get a 72 reading near shore the other day. North wind had been blowing surface water in for a couple days.

89 actually sounds kind of disgusting. Does that even cool you off?

I agree with Stacy.

Our lakes get so warm that in September it is almost like being in a hot tub.

We actually have warnings about dangerous ameba's that want to get into your body and eventually kill you.

Every time I get home from a day on the lake, I immediately jump into the swimming pool which is a good 10 degrees cooler.

Yooper, you remind me of a friend who moved to Pittsburgh (my home town) from Cedarville, Mi. All summer long he would complain - "I really like Pittsburgh, but it is sooooooo damn hot".

Hardly can hold 72, Wisconsin summer has been cold and windy :(

But.....I live on a lake now, so can't complain :-)

I'd gladly take some 80 degree water! Send some up warm water my way Stacy.

It's 76 degrees on our 400 acre lake up in Northern Wisconsin, comfortably above the 58 degrees that we skiied in over Memorial Day (in wetsuits, of course, 'cause we're weenies...!)

fox river has been mid70's. the green algae insulates the water and keeps it warmer in the cool summer we are having...
