It came with this prop and I'm thinking its time to upgrade that to a 4 blade. Going to get the boy who's 7 into wake boarding. Hes a pretty solid little wrestler for me now lol. Here are some pics and please give me your thoughts. I have a couple blue transom lights on the way as well. I also plan on doing some led lights in the boat itself along with new gauge lights. I have always tweaked out my vehicles so mine as well do the boat. Going to take it in for service as its not idling good and dies often under idle. First time we have had it in the water in 3 yrs was this past weekend. My mom loved to go to our cabin but had gotten very sick so we kinds gave that up a few yrs. Plan on getting back into it though since the boys older and wants to try boarding. Thanks and any info and feedback would be great.

I wouldn't be worried about changing props to pull a 7 year old. Glad to hear you are getting back on the water.

Thanks, guess I should have worded that better LOL.. Have a bunch of nephews also and they wanna ski so was thinking prop more for them. The hole shot is decent but the guy we bought it from put this prop on for more speed and no out of the hole action.

I agree with Kane's assessment, for that small a guy there is no need to change props.......now if you are starting to think about surfing with increased ballast as well then you might want to also think about changing props. If you are thinking in those terms, a simple call to Nettles or Wakemakers should get you what you need.

I see the boat is registered in IL -- whereabouts are you?

Thanks. I have some older nephews also that weigh 180 so it would be more for them and myself if I decide to give the wake board a try after 20 yrs lol. We are located in Chenoa but the boat is at Shnnon shores near south willmington.

It has a 3 blade on it now and runs about 50 mph I would say. Forgot to check with GPS yesterday under full power. The guy we bought it from wanted more top end so he changed the prop out. I thought it came with a 4 blade prop factory on the 2003 outback 31-hp but maybe wrong on that?

Unless you really want a new prop, I would try the old one first. Chances are it should do the trick unless you are loading up on ballast too.

And welcome back to the water, I don't think you (or your son or nephews) will ever look back on that as a bad decision -- probably the opposite......."Dad why haven't we taken this awesome boat out before now???" :)

Call Nettles and see what they have to say. You can sell your current prop to recoup some of the cost. Advertise it as a direct drive prop for barefooting and you'll have some takers. There was a guy on here recently talking about changing engines for more speed for barefooting. He just needs your prop. He might even trade with you.

Grew up in Joliet and on the Kankakee River. What was that festival called in Wilmington every summer?

Thanks for the welcome back. My 7 yr old was all smiles all weekend even though the boat wasn't running well since it had sit for a few yrs. Taking it to an Indmar service center I found not to far away from me. So hoping it will run top natch and maybe get by with the prop we have for the time being. I tried to load some more pics showing the prop and all too but waiting for approval or something? My mom got really sick so we stayed close to her until she passed. Then it just took awhile to want to get back on the water.

Not real sure of the festival name. They had something going on this past weekend. We live 45 miles south and just run up there on the weekends when we have time. I golf tournament golf also these days and that's another reason for the lack on boating.

LOL! I looked it up. It was this past weekend. The famous "Catfish Days". Drank a lot of beer down there over the years.

Once you get to 10 posts you won't need approval for posting a link or a pic.

BTW, I've played Cinder Ridge. Takes a different kind of skill to get out of those bunkers.

Ya that's a solid track. Actually just got missed by an f4 tornado last Nov. Its not cinder anymore its sand so nothing hard about the traps these days. Yes you are right we saw some signs for catfish days or something Crazy LOL...

These came in today. Now when I get it back from service next week it should be running like new. Then I'll pop these in unless the dealer will do it for cheap. If not I'll do it next week.
