I was looking on Wakeside.com and found a neon light tube that is made to be mounted under the ski platform on your boat. I love the idea but I just can't figure out how or where you would run the electrical wire to hook this unit up. If anyone knows how this works, I would love to know. If you can install this product without seeing any visible wires I would love it. Thanks for your ideas. http://www.wakeside.com/page/w/PROD/led_lighting/wake_specialty_platform_led_kit

Looks "cool" from view one, but lame from view 2.

They are LED's not neon, and I'm sure if you dont mind drilling holes in the boat, you can hide wires very easily. Not worth it for the "bling" factor.

I've always wondered if you could eliminate drilling holes for the wiring on these by just using the hardware that mounts the swim deck. You could attach the positive lead to the inside of one of the brackets and the ground to the inside of the other. Then attach the leads from the LED's to the brackets outside of the boat. Not sure if it would work or not, but it may be an easy way to do it without drilling.

Since most boats are negative ground, having a bolt near the water line with a positive charge would pretty much make a very nice short circuit.

This would be "bad".

Along with dead batteries and electrolysis on the deck support members.
