I'm in, as long as you don't tell my wife that I'm doing more projects! What are the logistics? Do we get a promo code or something to that effect?

Looks like 3 should be no problem - let's see about getting to 7.

I will PM the discount code once we have things finalized.

I don't think it's frequented as much, but you could also post on supra forums (or maybe any of the others like teamtalk, etc?)

Good call and I have posted it to the Supra forum. This buy is limited to the Skiers Choice community though.

Let me double check the finances but I think I am in unless anyone has any major concerns over these new quick release clamps. Here are the quick release clamps they are using.

why are they running these clamps? just a quick release?

brain_rinse

Those clamps are just if you want or need to easily remove the entire FAE for storage.

so just to be sure, there is the quick disconect option to remove the swim deck from the FAE and then those clamps are the quick release of the FAE from the boat correct?

Yes. That is what I understand and this came directly from Christina at FAE. This is what I will likely need to be able to still fit the boat in the garage. I was initially asking her how far past the wakeplate it extended but then she filled me in on the details for these clamps so it can be removed completely for storage purposes. It's not listed as an option on the website. She said they have had no issues with them but I am not sure how many people are using them.

I'm in, what is the side mount option for the swim platform?

brain_rinse
06-11-2014, 11:05 PM
If you don't get the side mount you have to remove the swim platform from the brackets to install the FAE. Some info here: http://www.freshairexhaust.com/fae-options/

I think I will be in on this. I've been considering one. At least a discount will cover some of the shipping cost to get it up here.

Jester - PM incoming with the code and I will follow up to see if orders can start being placed. It appears we already have 7 assuming everyone follows through! I've updated the first post with the list of buyers. Now that the discount is looking like $70 maybe we'll get a few more?

Edit: order banks are open! PM for code and post here once you've placed your order

If you are on the fence, take a look at the new Y-pipe design installed on a LSV! This is the setup I've ordered which includes the side mount option.

Thanks for the pics. I am also going with the Y design. Hope to finalize my order soon. Any idea on the turnaround for these once the order is placed? Just curious.

The website says turn around time if they have it in stock is a few days. If it is not in stock 1-3 weeks.

How do you order the Y design one or is that how all the new ones look?

Those pics look very familiar to me. I might shorten the sleeves on the all thread by an inch or so. I noticed some spray when I was boarding last weekend, and Larry had mentioned I could increase my Z measurement if I was getting spray.

Last year, it was hard for me to sit on the bench seat while at speed because the exhaust noise was deafening. Now in the 2 times I've been out since I took those pictures, it really is nice to sit back with the kids while my wife drives. I was even able to have a conversation from back there at speed.

How much would it cost after discount for the Y pipe design pictured above for an 08 LSV?
I've been trying the options on their website but been having problems. Think I'm having browser issues...

brain_rinse

Round numbers: $460 for pipe, $20 for side mount, $50 shipping, less discount. Quick release adds $40 if you want that.

Has anyone installed this on a 2014 Mondo? I just got off the phone with Larry from FAE and he made it sound like this was one of the more difficult ones to install and use the side mounts because of the platform bracket that is used.

All 14 Moomba with the new Stainless steel platform brackets are going to have the same issue.

The issue is the side mount is designed for a flat, solid mount. The new 14 brackets are 3 dimensional and hollow. This makes it harder to mount and tighten down the side mount design.

I had the 13 brackets with the side mount.
When I upgraded to the 14 brackets this year, I have not been able to get my FAE mounted back up.

I am going to try and get it done this Sunday.

Crap, I am officially out! just got back from a week at Lake Powell and hit a rock pretty good with the prop and will now be dropping $500 for a new prop instead of my FAE, DANG! I will have to wait a while longer.

I'm definitely in, however I have two questions first.
1. is this a one man installation?
2. any idea if I could pick up directly from FAE? They are located only about 25 minutes from our lake house and it would definitely help to not pay shipping.

Thanks for getting this set up, I was just telling my wife how I wanted to get this done.

1. Yes
2. Yes. I called and asked because I was going to be in Austin one weekend, and they said they have people pick them up directly from their location.

We already have 6. Who wants to be lucky number 7? The best thing about being number 7 is you know you will get the $70 off.

I confirmed with FAE that the group buy has hit 7 orders, meaning all included in the group buy will receive $70 off their order. Anyone that has already had their system ship will receive a check for $20 from FAE and anyone still interested has one more day to order and receive the $70 off their order. This will be the best discount they will offer for the remainder of the season so I encourage anyone interested to order now.
