2007 Möbius LSV price is right????

I'm very close to buying a MINT 2007 Möbius with only 47 hours on it. This is a friend of mine and he rarely uses it. He would let it go for $38,000. Seems a fair price to me, but wanted opinions. Boat was always stored in a heated garage. It's immaculate and well taken care of.

Mint boats are hard to find, especially ones where you know the history first hand. I'd say the price is on the high side but really comes down to the options.

I tried, have been trying. He came down from $40,000. It looks brand new. Not a speck of dirt on the engine, no rips anywhere, trailer is a single axle.

Red and white. Tower was put on by Moomba when he ordered it. Gravity III ballast, no heater, moomba cruise, travel cover, Bimini, pop up tie downs, bunk glides.

Components age even when not in use. Sometimes more. It's still seven years old. The price needs to reflect that.

So, you think it's too high? He came down to $37,500, but that will be it. I think I'm going to bite. One of theses boats sold in Texas, with 70 hours for $37,500. I'll post pics later today. How do I do that as I am new to the site?

I would say higher than average, but if the condition is great as you say go for it. My dealer had our 2006 LSV listed at $33,900 and it's sold. My bet would be around $31K.

When I was shopping for '07 LSVs last fall, I found that "low" was anything less than $30k, I found several "near-mint" for less than $35k with 100-200 hours. I would expect prices to be slightly higher due to seasonal demand, but only a few $k's. So unless he has thousands of dollars in upgrades of ballast, etc. I think he's quite a bit too high and you can find a better deal.

Only 47 hours on it. Has Gravity III ballast, pop up cleats, added interior lighting and just had it serviced for this year. New cap and wires, buffed, oil change, hydraulic wake plate.

Buy it! The price is a bit high but it is a unique scenario. Just make sure to keep several thousand set aside for upgrades, especially if you plan to frequent this forum. Welcome to the club!

I wouldn't want to lose the one that's perfect over a thousand or two. Should be pretty close. Did you check NADA or bluebook or whatever?

I would skip it to be honest. People that have these boats and most inboards generally keep really good care of them. The price to me seems way too high for an 07. I have a good friend of mine selling an 06 (same running surface) for more than a few thousand less right now on the classified section. The interior is perfect and it has perfect pass and upgraded ballast bags.

I would say that for that money you could find a boat with like 350 - 400 hours on it in near perfect condition with ballast pumps and bags all replaced, perfect pass and not moomba cruise, and maybe an upgraded sound system.

I know its appealing for a new boat but to be honest your just buying hours that really dont equate to much value in the long run. You could buy a totally pimped out boat with all the goodies for the same price with just a few more hours.

It does sound like you have your mind all set though.

Sounds like a great boat but probably $3-4K high for the age. If it has perfect pass, a shower, killer stereo, upgraded ballast system the price would probably be right on. That being said, buying from someone you know and knowing how it has been taken care of is worth an extra $1-2K in my book, so maybe it's worth it to just pay the extra $ and feel comfortable. I just bought an 07 LSV about 8 months ago that was absolutely mint and completely loaded with upgrades for quite a bit less. You can p.m. me if you want.

I also think the price is high. I bought my 2008 LSV with just under 80 hours (mint) for less than what this guy wants. I also have the dual axle trailer, perfect pass and heater. I know where you are located can make a difference so your area may be higher.

Tough one. Pay extra for peace of mind? It's a boat, anything can go wrong. I bought a 2006 LSV in February with 670 hours on it. Brand new interior, some scratches and what not on the hull, not mint, but looks great still. But paid a lot less than what he's asking. Have had it out four times so far, runs strong and is pretty well loaded. Just two weeks ago someone offered me $8k more than what I paid. Keeping this one for a while.

On one hand, I'm happy to hear that you are considering that price. What that means to me is that when I go to sell my 2008, I can get top dollar! I bought my 08 lsv brand new in 09 from the dealer- it has all the features you mention and a bunch more (dual axle trailer, perfect pass- not moomba cruise, heater, z5 Bimini, etc) and I paid a little more than his initial asking price. On the other hand, I think your friend is ripping you off. That little hours just means that it has sat for most of its life (I'm not so sure that is a good thing).

Keep in mind that the interior ages even if kept inside. When you start taking it out in the sun and spray it is going to break down fairly quickly and you will be replacing some of it within a few years. That is why age is just as important as hours if not more so.

The NADA says $28,900 is average retail. The Original List Price says $36,000 New.

NADA is one baseline that I use for all my cars, boats, trucks, motor homes and motorcycles. The basis of my success is how far below NADA or Blue Book I negotiated. I don't know of any other source that gets me an objective price. Banks use NADA as a basis for their loans.

You have to do your own research, I watch boat prices and how fast they sell from all over. The Nada seems to be dealer marked up prices and locally and isn't very useful. At least for me with the multiple boats I've bought/sold. It's great for setting insurance value and loans cuz it's always very high..

Thanks, I did not know the prices were high. For all these years, I thought I worked out good deals. At the same token, I sell stuff using NADA and KBB and they always seem to sell close the asking price but the economy around here is such that people often pay over the NADA and KBB.

I agree, bought mine in February, at the time it was the cheapest 2006 LSV I could find in all USA. It's insured for a lot more than I paid, that's for sure!

That boat will sell for low-mid 30's in a matter of days if he posts it up on onlyinboards.
