Could someone help and tell me what this is? It's up under the dash behind the ignition switch. It's the blue thing looks like something that would control base levels on a sub and it's factory wired.

Looks like the speedo adjustment for the analog gauge.

Yes thats the Speedo adjustment.

Using a hand held GPS you can fine tune the speedo to read more correctly.

I guess I shouldn't have been just spinning it around like an idiot then.

No hurt feelings here just wondering why I couldn't turn up the bass on my speedo. Wait that came out wrong

The cool thing is you don't need to go buy a handheld GPS, there's an app for that!

Please no pics of you and your banana hammock!

Don't worry I would have done the same, I am no better.

Now what I want to know is since you did fiddle with it does it now change the accuracy of your speedometer?

For general GPS I use MotionX-GPS, for on the water I use Navionics Marine & Lakes

I also have a suction ram mount that I use to hold my phone on the dash that comes in really handy.

I would guess we are all guilty of this. The ones that should be embarrassed are those of us who've done it on multiple boats, lol.

There are many free Android apps out there. I just did a search and chose one with good reviews. Checked it against two speedos in the cars before checking the boat speedo.

I grabbed an app from the playstore then forgot all about it on Sun. on the water. We just took a short booze cruise with some friends. Listened to a band playing at the fish camp. Relaxing day on the water at a crappy lake 5 min. from the house.
