Took my son and some friends to Lake Powell for a quick 3 day trip and had a blast. The weather was nice and warm but the water is still a little cool. Took a lot of pictures so I thought I would share a few. Enjoy.

Heading that way the first week of June. Can't wait. I'm hoping the water temp starts to rise, but air temp should be just right.

My list also. How was the water level ? Is it considered normal right now? I had heard it was way down some time ago.

How did you nkow where it was safe to run?

the water level is about where it has been for the last several years. It's around 100 ft below the highest water level. It is raising right now and will start dropping again the end of the summer. If you stay in the middle of the main channels you are fine but as you get back to the end of the side canyons you have to be carful and go slow keeping an eye out for stuff just under the water.

Outstanding place to play with the boats . Rare to see someone actually wake boarding in the bay there by the buoy field. Usually its like a washing machine , really rough. Hope to make it there this late September.

I love Powell, I've been the last 2 years around July 4th. The town has a pretty good firework display. I'll be going next year for sure. The lake is huge and always a blast.

Here I am surfing down Navajo Canyon and jumping in the bay.

any of you see a crew yacht surfing? some of the top surfers in the world were on Powell last week for a photo shoot. they posted some video of a giant slip-n-slide that shoots you off the cliff and into the lake.

Drew funny you ask that. I saw them surfing behind the yacht. They were killing it! The yacht was putting out an enormous wave. They had a wave runner and boat that would pick them up when they fell and bring them back to the wave. The yacht just kept making a huge circle and didn't stop. Where did they post the video. The slip-in-slide was at the mouth of the canyon we were staying in.

I had to get my map to check, sorry it took so long. It is called "lost Eden Canyon" and it out of Bullfrog. If you leave Bullfrog and head south it is just on the right side as you bass the entrance to Hall's bay. It is a pretty small canyon that has like 3 small arms. Can't remember which one it was in, but if you just go back and start exploring you will find it. It is cool to just float under. It isn't as big as the picture looks because of the wide angle lens but still pretty big.
