View Full Version : Ordering a 2014 Mojo...show me some color schemes...

Sold the LSV at the end of the year last year and after looking at onlyinboards.com every day for 8 months we are saying "screw it" and buying a new Mojo.

I really like the "lime green" on white with some black accents, but want to think about other color options. It has to have the rally stripe...my wife loves that.

So post some pictures, and any suggestions on options....my options are heavily weighted by how the wake will be, not by how loud the stereo will be.

Congrats, but what are you going to do THIS year?? I'm not sure if I could take a summer anymore with no boating...

I'm a big fan if the green an black myself. If I'd custom ordered mine that's what I would have done for sure.

Really though, it's your boat. You have to live with it. Make some options up on the website and then decide. Good luck!

Yeah I realized after I re-read your first post you wanted the rally. I like the rally a lot more then the plaid thing.

I understand that. I would just put an Ohio state flag on it and tell anyone who says it's a Michigan boat that you pirated it from a Michigan fan.

green/white/charcoal. not digging the green/blue for some reason..

skiers green color is the bomb. if I was in the market, it would be my first choice.. the orange is nice and I am partial to it as my supra was orange, but the newer orange they are using is kind of dark. the late 2000's orange was very vibrant.

White/Green/Charcoal is a color combo that pops IMO.. Would look good in the Rally 'Torqued' scheme.

No problem Reed that white tower really sets it off.

One thing the wife said after seeing our build pictures is there are a lot of green boats being built. I think I counted 4-5 in the background of our pictures that had green in them. It must be a popular color this year.

Ummmmm a lot has happened in the last 24 hours. We went to a demo day "Dare To Compare" event in MLPS and it was the greatest thing I have ever done.

BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW BOAT GO TO AN ON WATER EVENT. Narrow your boat selection before you go, and then ride in them.

THE WEATHER WAS 70 degrees and there was a 15 MPH wind and a few boats...the water had a "small chop" so if you were riding that day all you would do is surf....that being said.

We rode in the Moomba MOJO 2.5 and honestly we were buying this boat before we got to the event...I was very disappointed. The boat fully loaded had a HORRIBLE wake and the roost behind the boat was obnoxious...there was a 7 foot portion of the wake that was clean and the rest was washy and looked rough.

The FLOW system was equally disappointing, they say you don't have to dump any ballast on the website, but the rep said it works better when you dump about 75% of your offside rear bag. We did and I didn't see the wave I thought I would. The boat was nice, but not AWESOME at all. I would have kept my 06 LSV.

NOW ENTER THE AXIS A22...within 5 minutes of being in the boat my wife said we are not buying a Moomba. The wakeboard wake without ballast was SICK and with the bags jammed up with water it was BEAUTIFUL and clean for as far back as you want to ride...like 75' back it was good. I now know how Randall Harris rides with a 80 rope, or whatever he does.

The SURF GATE is the real deal...our jaws dropped when with all the sacks full and surf gate out the wave looked like you had a hippo sitting on the swim platform. YES it is that good.

MY OPINION and I am not an expert on anything...I don't care about stereo equipment, cup holders, etc. all I care about is wake and the A22 is 10 times the boat the MOJO is. We are not buying a Moomba we are ordering our A22 on Tuesday, it goes to paint on Wednesday and will be here the first week of July.

JUST BEING HONEST in what WE saw and experienced.

Congrats to you! The A22 is a really nice boat, I'd love to get a chance to ride/drive one.

The A22 throws a very nice wake .. I just couldn't get over the fact that the interior looked like a bunch of park benches wrapped in vinyl. and the boat felt small for a 22 ft. boat. I know ill never get to pro levels to ever need that kind of wake. 90 percent of riders wont either. But, to each his own .. congrats though .. what colors did ya end up with?
fyi: the mojo takes TONS of weight to throw a surf wake. Its just a bigger boat . So I don't understand why you would have to dump anything.

Glanzer,

We appreciate you considering the Mojo in your buying decision. I will follow-up with the dealer regarding this demo to see what setup he was using. The Mojo is normally delivers excellent performance, as many owners on this site can attest to. Enjoy your time on the lake, the season is upon us.

If you took all that time to compare, why didn't you ride it? The wave you're getting looks nice, but has no push. But, to each his own.

Hope you have a fun summer.

I can understand some of your findings, and I hear you on the A22.

First and foremost I agree 100% on the Mojo wake board wave. I have yet to get mine to throw a sweet wake board wave unless I'm going 23mph.

As for the Surfing the boat, I can make a clean wave on both sides pretty easy, and its pretty good size stock, stock as in 650s and 500 hard tank.

Toss in the Flow now, Regular side doesn't matter all day its clean with everything full.
Goofy side is a bit different and does require some fine tuning of the weight settings. < fair assessment >

I run my Mojo with some of the biggest ballast you can with the Flow and I have got some pretty decent results on both sides but it does take tweeking.

Axis A22 Surf Gate.

Not sure what weights they are running but I have always seen Axis run big weights and have heard a lot fo mixed reviews of the Surf Gate. I personally still haven't surfed one so i cant make the call on that.

Axis has always been known for clean wake board wakes from 17mph on up. Thats what it was designed for.
Axis as a surf boat, I haven't heard a lot on the forums, or market on it. A few rumblings here and there.

I will say watching the Axis over the years and being in them at the boat show each year, they have gotten a lot nicer since they were introduced.

The most important thing is your happy with your purchase. You have to know each time you go out on the water that your in the best boat for you.

Happy you found what you are happy with, don't be a stranger here.
Take it easy.

Thanks for the words everyone....I honestly feel like I just put down my best hunting dog, we really LOVE Moomba and were ready to buy the MOJO, but it was a pretty easy choice when we saw the wake and surf wake "side by side".

I will always be a "No Worries" fan, but our choice was to go the Axis route.

wonder if Glanzer's wife saw this, would she still think the Axis wave is better?

Are you talking about the 2014 Axis that went for a swim, but sank?

There may be more than one out there as the Axis boats don't have any flotation foam in their construction. I frequent a few forums, looking at what folks are doing for surfing and just read that post in amazement.

No foam + roller = sunk Axis

Also cutting corners in construction = heartache for customers

sunk Axis was pretty scary to read--went down in 30 seconds with no water ballast. No flotation foam has just got be bad, don't think I would ever want to try and surf one.
