Hey guys. I just got the Upholstry on my sun deck redone. I know I have seen where guys have sewned three beach towels together to make something to protect the Upholstry. I'm currently deploying overseas so I can't do this myself. I'm trying to find pictures of the thing so my wife can have it done to help protect the new Upholstry. Any help would be appreciated. I have searched and searched but can't find it.

We use 3 towels, we have one for several reasons.
1 helps catch a lot of the water you drag in so its not slippery.
2 keeps the rear deck cool to walk and lay on
3 protects it from our Lab when he jumps in and out.

We sewed 3 towel together and use Velcro to hold it to the pylon, and then the rear tie downs.

This year we are changing it by cutting a hole and sewing it around the ski pylon. We have to shorten the towels also because the Mojo sundeck isn't as long as the LSV was.

We tried terry cloth on my Nauti it worked great until it got wet . Then it was like laying on a wet towel that never got dry. Plus it dosnt stop water and dirt from getting through. Also it covers your new upholstery . We now use a clear plastic kinda like they use for covering fancy furniture. It wraps over the back of the rear seat and tucks under at the bottom the back is held down with suction cups and straps around the handles. It works perfect easy on easy off and keeps the lockers ,engine and vinyl clean and dry. My wife made it to fit the boat.I have a friend that wants one for his Moomba but we haven't started on it yet.

It covers the back of the rear seat and tucks under and is held by the seat bottom

The whole back of the boat is protected and because its one piece it sheds water

The suction cups are behind the two black reinforcements at the bottom edge.

This boat has two handles we used straps to tie down the corners. The handles are also used to secure the board protector pad she made.

Just make sure you're covered with oil all the time and it will be fine.

That's a real good way to protect the boat but OMG that's got to be slippery as all get out.

Do you really leave the plastic cover on all the time when you're out in the boat?

Yes cover is on all the time we are out . We take it off when we get home to open all the lockers and engine compartment.

No its not all that slippery even when wet . we have been running with these covers for the last 4 years. The only problem is it makes it a little more difficult to access the rear storage. The pluses far outweigh the negatives. Or you can always throw some towels on it if you like?

I still want one Michael! I need to bring the boat over and get it measured! Hope you and Gail have a blessed Easter!

I still plan to put towels over it since this seems to be the major sitting area - I just dont want my sun decks upholstery to get nasty and the lockers filled with nasty water.

You will have to stop boating on Lanier for this to happen. :)

I know Drew! We have a place on Lake Seed - nice mountain lake - cleaner than Lanier, only bad part is Lanier is 5 min. From the house - Lake Seed is - 1 1/2 hours....
