Looking to purchase an acme 1847 prop but read on another forum about a guy complaining his wake got washed out and softer when running this prop compared to his oj 14.25x14. Does this sound legit at all? Seems like a prop could cause prop wash or something, but don't get how it could change the wake characteristics as that is more hull related. He complained that it gave his wake less ramp and lip for wakeboarding.

I call B.S. My 1847 if anything probably cleaned up the wake. I have no evidence, photographic proof, nada. Just seat of pants experience.

I would want to know what boat this complainer is using. I'm no expert on boat hulls, but the hull/ prop relationship is key. I would put most credence in others experience who have the same hull as yours....

I have this prop and I can honestly not really tell any difference in it and the OJ except that it is smoother

Ok, maybe if the way other the prop/engine are performing allows the hull to ride at a different angle it could cause a change? However there is such a minimal difference between the 2 props I can't imagine it would/could create THAT much of a difference in the wake...

I have this prop and it makes a huge improvement on the hole shot.

I'm running almost 3k in ballast the stock oj prop struggled to get going...
