Went out for a cruise last night. Water is real high on a lake very close to us that I've never been able to put in before. Kind of swampy but has some good open water too. Felt great just to be out there.

The old platform is in the garage. I wanted to test effects of a smaller platform.

Surfed a bit today with good results from the smaller platform, even on a shallow lake. The day was shortened by the howling wind.

Oh sure-- don't come to N. Fla. Gotta go to S. Fla. Coulda come out with me every day and given me an excuse to miss 5 days of work-- BUT NO! All right. Fine. I'm gonna go visit up there and go to NJ!

Mondo's maiden voyage on Hagg Lake Sunday and another reminder that boating is so family friendly. Aren't they cute? Outside temp 60-65. Water temp 50-55.

Boat ran great. Couple issues with speedo and temp gauge. Fixed by Noon on Monday (thanks to AWS) Definitely not a V Drive pro yet. Going to take some doing to learn the whole reverse thing (compared to an outboard).

You'll get the hang of it. The first time I drove mine I thought I made a serious mistake- now I can do things with the V-drive no outboard can do. Btw good call on having the kids wear life jackets especially when it's cold.

Just spent the last couple of days working on the new fishing boat. It is slightly larger than the one that sunk in December.

Well, as you may have seen, my Moomba is for sale...And I picked up the replacement last night! Here is what will be our summer haven this year!! I had this crazy horse guy following me around though. That cowgirl on the right did a bad job so she had to hire a guy in a Sombrero to help. Darn horse was tryin to gallop over to the boat but the Pirate had other plans!! Nerf war!!

Dylan tried to knee board against my recommendation not too since the water was only 59 degrees. Lasted about 10 seconds laying on the knee board and was right back in the boat.

Where's the surf bowl?

We tried the wave just to see what it would do but we didn't bring the board so we couldn't ride it. it actually has a really mellow wave with a small curl at the top with only factory tanks and friendballasts. I do want to weight it out and see what she'll do!

Dylan tried to knee board against my recommendation not too since the water was only 59 degrees. Lasted about 10 seconds laying on the knee board and was right back in the boat.

Lesson Learned, yeah?! See, us lake folks do know what we're talkin about sometimes!! :) Even though we still jump in at 64 degrees! Darn knuckle heads!

These pics are getting me pumped to get out, but it will be a few more weeks with all the crap I still have to do. Tried bleeding the brakes Friday/Saturday and ran into some problems but eventually got it done though I ran into a bigger problem with a leaking seal so the boat & trailer is up on a jack for the time being. Ordered a new seal and it will be here tomorrow so hoping to get that out of the way. Then I am taking it in to MLA's shop to have a dual battery/perko switch installed and he's going to tune my stereo. Then I still need to wash the entire boat, wax it and vaccum/shampoo the carpet. It never ends.

Mondo's maiden voyage on Hagg Lake Sunday and another reminder that boating is so family friendly. Aren't they cute? Outside temp 60-65. Water temp 50-55.

Boat ran great. Couple issues with speedo and temp gauge. Fixed by Noon on Monday (thanks to AWS) Definitely not a V Drive pro yet. Going to take some doing to learn the whole reverse thing (compared to an outboard).

What issues did you have with the speedo and temp gauge? If I calibrate mine at 10mph then it is off at 30mph and vice versa. My temp gauge takes forever to come up to operating temp.

That's the catch. Trading friends/family our car for a truck or SUV for a few big trips this summer. Another SUV will be in our future though. Nothing too fancy - just to tow and haul kids around.

Yep. My lake is 18 miles long - I out the boat in about the middle, but the far north and far south ends are mostly frozen. There were lots of little icebergs in the middle.
