I have two brand new swivel wakeboard racks (though they might be usable for surf racks as well depending on the size of the board -- ~ 1 1/8" distance between forks) that I picked up at the end of last season to replace my standard racks but I have since found some swivel racks that I prefer instead. They are a set -- one port and one starboard -- though it looks like they can be easily interchanged depending if you want the clamp handle on the bottom or top. It looks like it will work on a 2" to 2 1/2" tower diameter and possibly even smaller than that with rubber spacers. They should be compatiable with both the old style rad-a-cage as well as the Oz towers.

I got a good deal on them -- only $200 each -- and will let them go for the same amount plus shipping. Includes the two racks and all mounting hardware.

Take a look at the pics and let me know if you need any additional dimensions.

UPDATE: I didn't completely realize what I had but I actually have THREE swivel racks -- two of them have a 1 7/8" mount (one port and one starboard) and the third rack has a 2 3/8" mount. That third rack is marked as port side but they seem to be easy to switch sides if you don't care if the handle is on the top or bottom. My boat is in storage and I haven't tried it yet, but the 1 7/8" mount should be perfect for the Oz tower which I believe is also 1 7/8".

I went back to my receipt and the two 1 7/8" racks were $175 each and the 2 3/8" was only $150, so I will let them go for those prices plus any shipping charges.

Sorry for any confusion.....

No interest? I must say these are some solid racks and you will never find a price lower than this on swivel racks...

I might be interested in the 2 3/8" one. Can you post or pm me pictures of the clamp with the tape measure perfectly measuring the diameter (I have been burned by incorrect measurements for tower clamps before)? Are there rubber gaskets for the clamps? What size box would you ship it in and how heavy is it (roughly) and from what zip code? I am in co- 81423. Thanks.

Also, photos of the whole piece (not just the tower mount part) would be nice also.

I have attached a few more pics, but let me know if you need any further.

All of the hardware is included, but there are no rubber gaskets included. The box (for one rack) is only 7" x 7" x 13" and weighs about 12-13 lbs. USPS estimates the shipping from my zip (60564) to yours for $25.

NOTE: Now that I look at the pics, I installed the forks upside down!! :) One of the nice things about these racks is that you can really adjust them in many different ways..........these show the handle on the bottom but it could also be flipped and mounted on the top.

How does the handle mechanism work? Is it a 'detent' type application that has certain points that it can lock in at or is it a pressure apple thin that you need to tighten and loosen the handle to stop it from moving, etc?

The handle is pretty much a simple screw operation -- turn it one way to tighten and the other to loosen -- and can be tightened in any position. The black handle does have a spring in it that allows the handle to be repositioned without tightening or loosening -- just push the button with a thumb and pull up on the handle to move it. This allows you to keep the handle in whatever position you want regardless of whether the rack is loose or tight. I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure how else to describe that "feature". :)

I guess my concern would be how tight you have to get it/ turn it to, so that you don't have to worry about it moving while under way? The last thing I need is one more thing to check and make sure other people got it tight enough or whatever. Sorry if I seem picky, just need to make sure it has the right feature set, regardless of how much of a good deal it is.

The handle makes it pretty easy to tighten, but there's really no answer to that question.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to pass. I did some research on those Yamaha racks and found that they are designed to use rubber gaskets. I don't think they will work well with the 2 3/8" rad-a-cage tower. Good luck with the sale.

Agreed.....if you wanted to go with the gaskets there really wouldn't be much room for them on a 2 3/8" tower.

For those of you still contemplating these racks, I have an assortment of sizes of the rubber gaskets that I have acquired over the years with other purchases that I could throw in if you need them or they can also be purchased separately if I don't have the size you need.

The two 1 7/8 mount racks are sold (thanks to Jake / beat taco for the tip on selling on Mastercraft Team Talk forum :)) but the 2 3/8 mount rack is still available. Only $150 plus shipping....

Damn, I guess I'm a day late and a dollar short. :-/

Swivel would have been nice. And I bet they would have worked fine with my 1 5/8 tower. Damn you Beat Taco for your suggestion.

Sorry about that, they would have worked perfect on the 1 5/8" tower. I was a good "Moomba soldier" and put them up here for a week first but got no takers....

...<in my best used car saleman pitch>...I still have the one rack with the 2 3/8" mount.......with a bit more shimming or larger rubber gaskets or swapping out for a smaller mount it might work for you!! And its even $25 cheaper at only $150 so you definitely can't beat the price. And I'll throw in a brand new shiny Ginzu knife.........OK, that a bit too much of a sales pitch -- you young guys probably never even heard of the famous (or infamous) Ginzu knives!! :)

Does the clamp basically attach to the base of the rack with a single bolt? It looks like there's a 2nd bolt. What does that do?

Also, I'd need to know how thick of board would fit in the forks. so the distance between the rubber cushions inside each fork.

And just for kicks and giggles, shipping price to 98685.

Now I've got you interested.... <best used car saleman laugh> :)

Seriously, you are correct -- one bolt (looks to be about 3/8") secures the mount to the rack. If you are asking about what looks like a second bolt that is black in the first pic that is just a rubber stop so the rack doesn't slam into or rub on the mounting arm.

The gap between the forks is about 1 1/8" -- plenty of room for a wakeboard and maybe enough for a surfboard depending on its thickness.

Shipping to that zip would be $29.

I'll have to go out and check the thickness of my surf boards and my current racks tonight.

Shipping to that zip would be $29.

Also, I can get shipping for *way* cheaper than that through my work. Would you be open to the idea of me mailing you a prepaid shipping label and you'd use that to ship? *you'd only need to drop it off at any location that handles fed-ex shipments.

What can I say, I'm a CPA and don't like paying extra if there's a more economical method. :-)

Sure, that works fine with me -- I really hate giving all that money to the shipping companies anyway.

In case it matters to you getting the shipping rates, the package would be coming from zip 60564.

Well, I probably missed a good opportunity. But to make it work "perfectly" for me, it would have required some wheelin' and dealin' on my part. I found that the forks weren't thick enough to accomodate my wakesurf board, and that's honestly my biggest need right now, as I already have 2 wakeboard racks that are attached to the crossmembers of my tower. I thought about buying the Krypt double wakesurf rack and swapping the hardware of that onto the swivel of yours, but that would have required drilling and reattachment of various bits.

So really, I would have been buying your piece for the swivel and woulda been trying to swap and offload the rest. I guess since someone beat me to it while I pondered all that it'd take to make this a go for me, that means it wasn't meant to be.

Take care!
