Supposed to have some here in the early morning. I'll have to set up with my video camera and watch all the action. It'll be like watching the boat ramp on July 4.

You guys may have to ditch the flipflops for a couple days - what's the world coming to!!! :p

So do they run the 24/7 news casts with doomsday names like "SNOWMAGEDON 2014" like they do up here...?

Got sent home from work at 11am, told not to come in tomorrow due to ice. Already lots of ice on the road signs and parked cars. Roads will probably freeze up tonight

It's actually above freezing, and raining, in Juneau AK right now. Yes, it's currently warmer there than Alabama. You've stolen their polar weather!

Just got back picking up some co-workers(in car with chains)that could relieve some folks, and it looked like the walking dead scene when they were coming out of Atlanta,I bet we passed over 150 abandoned cars along the road

my parents went to Georgia to visit family and get away from the cold in ohio ... dad called me today and said part of ga is shut down so now he can't head down to fl to visit his brother who is there or head back home. we have about 8 inches of snow here and temps are -10 to -30 with wind chill. its the worst i ever seen it here!

No snow tires sold here I don't think. When I lived up north we had studded winter tires. I'm the only stud down here

Yeah, but I bet y'all would melt like butter during July & August down here.

Nice thing is that this will all be gone in another day and, just about 8 wks from now, the boat will be back in the water. So, go ahead & get your chuckle on.

^ How many miles we talkin? That is one of many horror stories I've heard. I'd pee myself sitting on the road for that long.

I've had an 8 hour ride home before, but that was coming off Mt Hood during a snowstorm and 100 miles to get home, snow the whole way.

I'm going to guess Kapt'n Kraig's commute is under 40 miles.

That is why I stayed home and worked from the house. Traffic sux here when the weather is nice so I wasn't going to take any chances. I was not surprised really at all of the chaos. My commute is 45 miles and a guy I work with who lives in my neighborhood said it took him 12 hours to get home yesterday...dat shhh Cray!

I was in Atlanta due to the Poultry Convention -Always drive the 38 miles home everyday - Well I ended up spending 4 hours and only going 1 mile - Parked my Truck and walked back to the suite we had for entertaining guests and slept on the sofa!! Stayed their till yesterday and drove home - didnt see more than 100 cars the whole way home... Cars where still in the emergency lane from the first night.... Had a friend that ended up spending the night in his car - gave up after 12 hours of driving and only went 14 miles.....
I do agree with Wolfman - Chuckle all you want - We will be on the water putting sun tan oil on while some will still be blowing snow....

Don't forget August is hurricane season. I spent a few August and September months in that region deployed on hurricane duty. It's been quiet though. Every time they predict a big hurricane season it fizzles out. I can't say our weather here is not too bad. I haven't picked up a snow shovel in two years and I'm further north than Minneapolis.
