My boat seems to have become very difficult to steer, this is without any ballast in it as well. What can possible issues be that would creat this problem?
Sorry its a 2002 Moomba Outback

Only if he is the same "e420x". I'd suggest changing your name.
First you should listen to both side of a story before you call names...No one was ripped off here. So dont tell me about Karma

First you should listen to both side of a story before you call names...No one was ripped off here. So dont tell me about Karma. I have a perfect 100% score on ebay so dont tell me how I scam people. I do all of my transactions via paypal so both sides are protected.

Have you made contact with anything in the water with the rudder? Make sure that there are no obstruction under the engine as well. I left a rag in there one time and it got caught up in the rudder arm inside the boat. Good luck.

Thx...I think its due to the boat sitting for almost 3 months...I am going to try and have the steering cable inspected

That may be a good idea to have the steering cable checked. Mine went up after about 200+ hours of use. Got extremly hard to steer, to the point that i was sore driving. Upon replacement, was nice and easy to steer.

Thx...I will havew the new owner check that...I sold the boat so I gave the guy about an extra 900$ to fix the problem. I guess I should have checked it before , maybe will end up being cheaper

I'll still swear by ' a pound of prevention is worth an ounce of cure ' . Grease your rudder shaft and the cable ends. Don't goop it on, just enough to form a barrier to keep moisture out. After almost 2 years and over a hunnerd hrs she feels as good as the day I brought her home
.
(p.s. tell your wife that occasionally too)
