I usually play my music by hooking up my iphone to the audio jack. Is there any way to do this wirelessly so every time I want to change a song I don't have to get up while i'm driving?

I just installed a new head unit that I can connect to via Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connects up great and you can control your music from any where in the boat.

snyder,

2 common options. 1 is a bluetooth receiver that can connect to your head-units AUX inputs. 2nd, is to install a remote AUX port on the helm. This puts your music source at your finger tips.

This is what I use.

I have been pretty happy with it. I use my iPhone with it and keep the phone on the driver side. There is a short plug that stays plugged into the front of the head unit.

I do this via Bluetooth, you can use the controls on the captains console to skip/start/stop..

You could also run an aux cable over to the captains console instead of Bluetooth, I have a car mount to hold my phone and have an app that raises the volume higher or lower based on the speed..

I'd probably screw number 2 up, so simple connection to AUX inputs would probably be my option. Anyone have any pictures?

Doesn't your receiver have a iPhone hookup?

There was a guy on the Malibu Crew forum that removed the head unit completely and used his Iphone/Itouch to control the audio via Bluetooth. I don't remember exactly how he did it but it looked cool. The thread name was chadilac MXZ. You will have to read through the thread to find it.

i might just do this in my boat..last summer i picked up a new kenwood ( http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_21687_Kenwood-Marine-KMR-700U.html ) and you have to pop open the head unit to hook you iphone up to it. i like that but when you get a call or someone needs there phone its a pain sometimes when everyone throws there crap in front of the head unit

I bought one of these last year and installed it in my boat. Works good, doesn't give you the same clarity as a line in but it does give you the ability to change your music from anywhere.19055

I tried the after-market bluetooth add on (not the Wetsounds one), but I just wasn't happy with the quality compared to wired. I ended up running a cable for my iphone from the HU, through the ski locker, up through the footwell. Not real pretty, but I just keep my iphone in the cupholders by my right foot and control the music from there.

I have a belkin aircast, works pretty slick but it does take up the aux pwr plug in the glove box as it needs constant pwr. i went this way so i didnt have to deal with recharging. The wetsounds one is also a great option but requires a little install work but if you have a WS-420 it plugs directly into that.

The Wet Sounds BT is universal. It will interface with any EQ's main or AUX input or head-units with AUX inputs. At the most, you might need a 3.5mm F x male RCA stereo cable.

With a 4v line out, that will work good as a stand-alone source unit, but its way too hot to connect to the AUX of a head-unit.

I eliminate wires where ever I can so soon I will be going wireless bluetooth. You can control the music and volume from the beach as long as your not too far away.

Just do not forget the phone on the dock or in the truck.

Do you think this would work better than Bluetooth

I'm interested to see what the audio experts think. I saw this on WW, and am definitely intrigued. The reviews on Amazon are all very positive, and I like that the music isn't compressed.

That is how I ran mine... exile zld with bluetooth puck plugged into aux pre outs on back of zld... worked awesome!

So has anybody tried the Cybox yet? MLA, I see that it is switchable 4V/800mV (from the Australian site: http://www.roswellwakeair.com.au/products/cybox#sthash.NBzOYFWe.dpuf)
