balast filling up

I have been accidently hitting the on off switch for the ballast and they fill up when I do not want them to. Is there a device to slde over them to prevent this?

When my hippo system was installed the inlet has a valve on the inlet. the pumps may run with no water coming into the boat. this is a must incase a hose breaks on the inlet side so the boat does not fill up. check you may have one that has been opened all the time and just needs to be turned to the off position.
