I have been reading these boards for some time now. I've asked a few questions along the way. Wednesday we will be test driving a leftover 2013 Outback V and an LSV. We will probably end up purchasing in January but I'll have to wait and see. Wednesday can't get here soon enough.

Awesome, that will be a great day for sure. Make sure you take plenty of time with each one going over the boats and asking lots of questions. Let us know what you think.

+1 for the lsv unless you are on a size restricted lake

I have seen and been through the LSV already. I have not seen the Outback V in person yet. I am leaning toward the LSV. It's gonna come down to how little coin and the wife. I think she will prefer the LSV but as the keeper of the coin, well, you know the rest of that story.

sell her on the deeper freeboard and the safety aspect of it :)
long term, you won't regret it...

take her to the boat show in Atlanta or Birmingham. Reps from Skier's Choice are usually at these shows and will help you sell her on the LSV.

I'm not sure it will be a matter of selling. What it will come down to is which one she feels more comfortable driving.

. What it will come down to is which one she feels more comfortable driving.
that's going to be tricky then as the lsv will feel much larger and that may not feel so comfortable, the lsv performs and to me feels just as responsive when compared to the smaller hull

you'll have to get both on the water, then.

We have already made arrangements to demo both. They are both inside the service area so we can go over the features and spend some time on board before heading to the water. We will be able to get a good comparison side by side.

I think you will like both and it will come down to price. I bought a new 2012 LSV last November and my buddy bought a new 2012 Outback V last October. I only paid about $2-3k more than he did, so it was a no brainer for me. If you are looking at a $8-10k price difference, then it may not be worth it for the LSV. I love my LSV and it is a bit roomier than my buddies Outback V, but not so much where I would pay considerably more for it. I use my buddies boat about as much as I use mine and I am never disappointed by the wake, handling, etc. With that said, I have a '12 LSV, which is a bit different than the '13 and up LSV.

Unless the price is really far apart (I doubt it is since you're probably dealing with Skier's Marine North who are great guys) I would lean very hard toward the LSV.

I don't know if it might help or not but, my LSV is stored on the west side of Huntsville. You and your wife are more than welcome to have a look at it. Plus, your wife can talk to my wife about driving the LSV. You can send me a message if you think you might be interested. You won't regret an LSV.

We completed our test drive today. We did not drive the Outback V, only the LSV. For the difference in price, my wife liked the feel of the larger boat. I was amazed at the difference 1.5 feet makes to the feel of the interior. We spent about an hour out on the water. It was a little chilly but worth it. My wife drove it like a champ. She was a little hesitant when the boat was listed but she powered through. I drove a little too but she got most of the seat time by design. I believe the LSV will be the right choice for us. My wife is quite the negotiator and she has a few more questions for the salesman but it looks like there is an LSV in my future.

Nice! The new LSV has a great feel to it (very deep) and a proven hull design. Glad to hear its working out.

We put our deposit down today to lock in a dealer slot for the blue 2014 LSV. Spray date TBD. We will finalize everything at the boat show this weekend here in Huntsville.
