I'm looking at getting a snowblower attachment for my craftsman lawn tractor at the lake so we can get out there more in the winter. My only concern is that I will be using it at the lake to clear a path from the road to the cabin and there is no 'driveway' and only grass from the road leading to the garage and cabin. It's completely level and I would guess about a 100' off the road. It's a basic 20hp lawn tractor and I don't know if it would be able to 'hook up' on the grass even with chains and weights? If it does, what will my lawn look like in the spring?

Skip the mower attachment and just get a good snow blower, lousy maneuverability with the tractor ith attachment .

if you're going to drive on it, why not just mount a blade to the front of your truck? prob. a little more spensive, but easier.

Sounds like a good excuse to buy a new 4 wheeler to me!

We bought a plow for our lot at work that mounts to the front of any SUV or truck that you can buy a front mounted receiver for. Myers Home Plow http://www.meyerproducts.com/

You'll be fine, we have to plow our ice rink to get the snow off before the frost drives. You will tear up your lawn though so be prepared. Also set your skidshoes down further that will help.

That probably wouldn't void your warranty either unlike other blades might. Good find.
