Hey Everyone,

When should I be replacing the water/fuel separator filter on my DD. I cannot see anywhere in the manual of when it should be replaced.

Thoughts?

my boat's pcm engine manual says 50hrs or yearly. dealer told me to do it every year at winterization no matter the hours.
I plan on doing mine yearly unless I have a rare season that nets 125+hrs.

I don't think I even have a fuel water separator

the supra I had did not have one. my current boat does. don't know if it's a pcm thing and indmar doesn't use them.
don't really know if it's a good thing or not to have one as I never had any issues with my supra and fuel other than vaporlock and I don't think this is a solution to that issue.

My Outback has a fuel filter/water separator (the spin-on type). The Indmar manual says to replace it "every 100 hours" and "every 300 hours or annually".

Thanks Brian,

It will be on the to do list for the spring. Is it an easy change, or does it have to be on an empty tank? Just wondering about leaking/spilling a bunch of fuel in the boat.

Yeah, it is an easy change and does not have to be on an empty tank. It is mounted vertically, and there is room under it to bring it straight down without spilling fuel everywhere.
