Has anyone used plasti-dip on wakeboard racks? If so, how did it gold up?

You might want to check on getting them vinyl dipped like the factory ones. Look up vinyl coatings on the internet. I think the vinyl will be stronger and thicker.

I would love the idea of the vinyl but I'm guessing that is a bit more pricey than a $6 can of plastidip...

The racks have a pretty beefy rubber insert that takes most of the abuse and I was looking to just use the plastidip to color the racks black to match the tower. Of course the rest of the rack gets bumped and scratched when moving boards around so I was mostly wondering if the plastidip would stand up to those bumps and scratches.

Has anyone successfully put the rubber insert back in after it comes out? Any advice?

nope, mine came black. but dont see why it would not work and stay good looking for quite a while, board dont really hit the rack's, just the rubber insert

I have not had to try it yet on the stock Moomba racks, but my old ones seemed to go back in pretty easy.

Maybe you could try a butter knife or a screwdriver -- thin enough to "guide" the rubber back in yet won't tear or puncture the rubber??

I can get it back in. It just won't stay there.

I've used super glue with some effectiveness but it tends to need reapplication over time. You might be able to use epoxy, but I've never wanted a permanent solution where I couldn't get the insert out if I needed to.

I used 3m marine adhesive on the obv , worked pretty well, just make sure you have a wet cloth and paint thinner to wipe down the excess, paint thinne for your hands, you will get it on them or just wear latex gloves and toss.

I think that is probably the way to go. The one on the kneeboard rack comes out every time out. Drives me nuts.

If you can find it in clear even better. Mine was white.
