So, I've had my Mojo a couple months and I've been mildly annoyed by the slop in the swim platform. It makes a lot of noise when wake comes in and hits it and it just feels kinda cheesy. I'm sure this is the case on all the models that have the platform.

I had a chance to take a look at a '14 Mobius this weekend at I noticed the platform was solid, they've gone to a new design of bracket which I think would be fairly simple to swap out. It's all steel and there is no play in the design at all, very good improvement.

As I was looking at my platform I noticed some empty threaded holes... should these have set screws in them or something?

Short answer, Yes, you are missing the screws that will tighten it up and there will be no play at all.

Fantastic. Well, I'll contact the dealer then... didn't see that in the bag 'o goodies nor in the literature. With that said, the new design is still a big improvement.

Well, it just so happens that there were 4 set screws in the bag of goodies... I'm not sure if I should feel stupid or my dealer... I certainly didn't see this in the literature though.

I just got them installed... still a lot of play due to the clearance in the bottom pin holes. I can see these things backing out pretty easily... should there be Loctite on these?

Thanks!

Never really understood why people are so bothered by the platform slop. I have alot in mine due to the old bracket with NO set screws. i never even notice it unless i pick up on the platform and try to shake it

Don't you here it flopping around when a roller hits your boat while you're sitting still? Sure makes a lot of noise... first few times we were trying to figure out what it was.

Fresh Air Exhaust fixed mine.

If I'm just floating a roller hits us from
Behind I guess it makes a noise, never really paid much attention to it and we don't get hit by that many rollers. I wouldn't say it's that much louder than the water splashing when you're hit by a roller

it's all that Exile gadgetry you have on that thing. I bet you could hear the Queen Mary streaming by ;)

+1... another reason I need to upgrade my audio... so I can't hear the platform flopping ;)

I may inquire about getting a set of 14 brackets... looks like they would be a pretty easy thing to swap out.

I put Loctite on ours, I have them adjusted so you can remove the platform without moving the set screws. Not crazy about the design either.

The noise bugs me as well. I have a 2012 and when I dock it with the transom out the platform is constantly bouncing as waves roll in. I can hear it from far away. Dealer says the slop is so the stress isn't fully translated to the transom??? I considered tightening the screws up but haven't yet. I believe the bouncing resulted in the loss of one locking clip already...

Yeah, good concept but poorly executed. Apparently they thought so to since the '14 models have a new design. Sadly the new brackets don't retro to the older boats due to required reinforcement to the transom. The bouncing will just get worse over time as those pin holes open up...

My pin holes have no opened up at all and mine is 5 years old, I have also not lost any pins due to this issue either or any other issue

oh boy, up at 530 to get the kids off to school on the first day...... mine got so worn down that I laid down a couple weld beads on the back and front of the platform brackets. ground them down for a snug fit.

Since no set screws were installed on my boat... my platform has had the opportunity to move around a lot more. You may be fine since it sounds like your boat was properly prepared at delivery. I still think the design was poorly executed though.

I have the same bracket and get the same slop.

!st throw the screws from the factory in the tool box and save for something else. Go get SS screws that thread in there with a nice bolt or scew head.

Third time out and the factory ones striped out and the dealer had to drill and extract them out.

Now i have the screws and they work pretty well.

Also i would suggest tossing the little spring loaded slide pins on the platform.

In july at WTW i sheared one right off and the platform tried to come out of the bracket and gouge the rear of the boat. Thankfully i noticed it and called an end to the day at 530pm.

I went and bought bolts with nylon in them to use for the lower bracket.

I think what happens is when you tighten the adjustment pins it puts so much pressure on the spring loaded pins it just broke it in half.

On my LSV i never had an issue with the spring loaded platform pins, but on the Mojo i can only assume it broke in half.

For those with an LSV, see page 8 of the thread below for a simple solution to this issue. I put a lock washer in the gap at the top and it eliminates the rattle. This may or may not work for you depending on the size of the gap.

After about a year the set screws on mine ('13) are wearing dangerously close to going through the bracket. Anyone else see this?

Work with your dealership. I had mine replaced with the 14 platform brackets for around 250 out of pocket. Normally would run over a grand. Dealership ate the labor and gel work and SC helped with the bracket exchange. The new brackets are stainless with no slop at all.

I'm looking at doing the same thing, problem is my dealer doesn't do gel work so I'd have to take it somewhere for hat part of the work. I'm sure I'll be in a little more $ to get mine done.

I did replace the hardware, helps some.

I think I might have been one of the first to do this this year. I was able to get SC to work with me and my dealer as part of a warranty. My brackets where really worn down plus I had longer screws installed that where all bent.

Very worth every dollar.

I don't have any of the 13 brackets pictured from my Mojo.

Here is my 08 LSV with the same brackets they used up through 12 model year.

New 14 style after they replaced the factory 13s. Honestly you can't see any gell work or anything. Dealer said its almost a direct bolt up. They have to redril the platform mounts under the swim deck. They used RTV to seal the old screw holes.

I don't have any good pics, but I'm pretty sure my '13 OBV brackets look pretty much the same as Mike's pics of his old '08....

New brackets were not introduced until '14, unless you have had a warranty claim done since. '13 brackets were similar to Mike's post except they added the set screw.
