OK folks, here's your chance. Let's see if anyone cares about slalom skiing or ski boats. Post your best pics of elbows in the water cuts, reaching for that next buoy or just family and friends having fun on slalom skis or even pairs.

I'll start with this shot of my daughter having fun on her HO-- not that good yet but she skis, wakeboards, surfs, kneeboards -- does it all. Why limit yourself? Learn it all I say.

Nice water. Always thought it would be fun to ski on Powell.

Here is a vido link that might work. 22 off at 34 mph - somethign goes tragically wrong.

[Sorry - had to yank the link - too much exposure to other FB accounts. Will see about etting a different version.

So one more try at this. I can't get this to open in Internet Explorer but it works in Opera and Firefox so I know it is a good link:

18042 Truth in advertising I think my daughter took this last year....It's a fine example of the dig required even at 15 off if you are behind at 5 ball...A place I find myself all the time.

Great shot Kane! Love to see the smiles on kids faces when they achieve something new! With that said man get the rope off the tower and straight line for her! It will make her improve much faster and will give her better body positioning crossing the wake!

Didn't you just start skiing the course behind the OBV last year? You're really rocking it!

Actually those photos are behind my ski partners Malibu lxi. we tend to toggle between it and my 01 nautique for course skiing. Whoever gets done with work first grabs his boat and gets it ready. OBV takes the open water action though if I can get to 22 off I'll put the OBV back in the course to prove it can be done- for me the wake on the OBV at 22 off feels really pretty good especially at 34 mph if I keep the ski on edge. This year I've put about 50 hours on each boat- I had initially intended the two boat system to be temporary until I figurd out whether course skiing was just a phase I was going through but now I think it's here to stay. I have 3 boys now so it's possible I'll eventually need a bigger open water boat- but I can't see giving up the big water vacations or the ski club- I like to do both.

That makes more sense. If that was a V drive wake I was going to have to start rethinking my evangelistic platform.
Have you tinkered with 22 off? IMHO - don't wait for 15-34 to go 22-34 - if you are running 15-32 and getting some at 15-34 consider 22-30. It will help make that 15-32 pass seem more attainable.

I like that the Naumoomba! Too funny! I admit that I now run a SN 196LE and not my Outback DD since we moved from Canada to Texas and on to a private ski lake.

Good to see some slalom pics getting posted on this site! Keep em coming!!!!

Well, I finally got back up on a Slalom ski after a 10+ year gap. I'm not very good, and it took me a while to remember how the hell to get back up on that thing, but I did it.

This is my "ghost rider" pic. I love how the rope disappeared...

We probably have 12 inches of ice on our lake. West Central Wisconsin. So can only envy you. But 58 and 53 - not too much envy. As long as there is no wind - and the sun is out - I could see it. I though the magic number was 120?

iwaterskihard
12-19-2013, 02:18 AM
The temp of the water is only a bit shocking when you first jump in and fill your wetsuit up. Suprisingly my feet did well as did my hands. So in reality - a non issue! :)
Sun was shining and it was a beautiful afternoon. Wanted to get out today as well but by the time we got to the lake the wind was out of the east blowing straight down the lake. One of the few times since I moved to our ski lake that I haven't been able to ski because of water conditions! :( But the bonus is..........there is ALWAYS tomorrow! :)

Mikey

If i could i'd be there tomorrow and with a wetsuit would be all over that. Enjoy a ski or 19 for the rest of us Northerners, that sadly miss a lot of ski time due to HARD water conditions. Don't know if you have been following , conditions lately. Back to -20 with wind chill of -29.. They say we are ''Likely'' going to have a WHITE Christmas.... Id think so . We have had Nearly 48 CM of snow in December alone.

Yes Mikey and to be honest..I'm NOT missing it! Our old neighbor in Millet just south of Leduc was on her side today in the ditch! I have seen the record cold temps, snow, and brutal winds!!!
Once my house is done I will have to invite some of my northern friends down for a set or two! :)
