That looks great!! What size bulbs are those? Do you have a link to them? How so you replace the lights...are they inside the gauges themselves?

To replace them just takes a lil body flexing and going underneath dash to twist out lil black tab remove bulb, insert new led and good to go.. if it does'nt light up just have to rotate bulb in fitting to get correct + and - .. hardest one i thought was the trim gauge for wake plate
heres exact ones i bought, well got free using ebay bucks :)

I did this awhile back in my 08 LSV, but I needed 2 bulbs for each of the bigger gauges and 1 for the smaller ones... Just fyi if you have the same boat...

Man that does look nice. I did this a few years ago, paid way too much for the LED 194s, and they don't look as good!
May have to order a batch of these to swap them out as some of mine are quite finicky whether they want to light up or not.

Do you have a pic of how they look at night with the bigger black faced gauges?

I didn't use the same bulbs. Mine came from super bright LEDs:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/boat-miniature-wedge-bulbs/194-led-bulb-6-led-wedge-base/200/
Only difference that I see are mine have 6 LEDs as opposed to 5 LEDs, which isn't much of a difference in a 194 bulb so they should still be great for the price.
This picture is from inside the boat stall with some light coming through on the 08 LSV.

Here's the same lights installed on my old 04 Outback at night

Well, that didn't go so good for this guy...............I took a look at my 2013 OBV over the weekend and all the gauges have a protective plastic cup over the back of them and are all screwed down so it looks to be a bit more work and complication that I wanted on my brand new ride.
I guess that purchase didn't pay off too well...

Received today and installed today! Was much easier taking the gauges out and doing it from the seat. The big gauges I left in and did it from behind them. Overall it wasn't difficult but getting the bulbs in just right was a little bit of a PITA at times. Total lights needed was 8. One for each of the small gauges and 2 each for the big ones.

There are two screw posts on the back of each gauge. There is a retaining bracket that the screw post go through and are held down with a tiny nut and washer. Unscrew the nut and washer and the "bracket" will be able to be removed then just pull out the gauge. I did it by hand but would recommend a small socket or wrench because some of those screws were pretty tight. I had a set of wire strippers for another project I was doing and had to use them to try and free up the nut. You will also need pliers to turn the plastic plug to get the bulb out.

would an 06 LSV use the same lights?
E4NASH
07-26-2013, 04:45 PM
Yes, the '06 LSV would use the same lights. I think it will only use one perlight instead of how the '08 and up uses two for the two big gauges.

Must have seen everybody from this forum scooping up all the inventory and deciding his price was too low!! :)
If you only need 8 like everyone else, I could certainly part with some of mine which I will probably never use anyplace else -- send me a PM and we can probably work something out...

WOW! These are most certainly NOT worth $60. I had one or 2 that didn't even work. They were priced right at $11. I have some extras too if someone wants them.

Much easier to install the lights if you pull the gauge out. Real easy to pull the gauges out and re-install. I ended paying 38.39 total for parts and shipping from Superbrightleds.com

Got mine last week and haven't put them in yet. Got the Red ones and they came from China quicker than I thought they would. Only took about a week and 1/2.
Will tackle install this week sometime!

Did this a couple years ago to my Supra, used red so as to not hurt night vision. Also used superbrightleds.com. Sorry for the terrible picture:

if you look at my pics on page one the big ones light up great.. another idea for left over bulbs i replaced all the bulbs in my lil ford ranger on the dash and temp controls and it turned out great.. just a lil more dis-assembly to do it!
