View Full Version : One slow ballast pump

My center tank and Starboard rear bag fill fast and consistent, but I had to bump up the timer an additional 3 minutes to get the port side to fill all the way. I checked the impeller and it looks perfect.

Anyone have a similar experience, or have any ideas why this would be? I know the speed on the pumps will vary a little, but this seems like quite a difference....

are you filling with the boat running?

Yup. I always fill and empty with the boat running.

you don't have a bigger bag in the port side, do you?

let's assume not. It would be a pain the arse, but you could swap out the fill line with another pump to see if the pump is the issue or if it's something else. check to make sure the valves on the thru hull intakes are all wide open, look for kinks in the hose, etc.

My guess is a kinked line.

I'm getting that pump replaced under warranty. Hopefully that fixes it.

Did you find a solution? I have a mobius lsv 2013. Same exact problem.

ever count the number of flashes on the switch?

It is real easy to get the timer out of whack.

A worn ballast pump impeller can slow the drain/fill times.

Can the ballast pump impeller rpm's be adjusted on the digital cruise pro or just the timers? I was pushing some buttons on the DCP ballast screen menu and came across some functions I wasn't sure about.

No it can't. You can however remove the pump, pull the impeller and sand or buff the interior of the impeller housing to improve performance. There is a video out there from wakemakers illustrating. I did this a couple years ago and it did help.
