I found a great deal on a boat and was wondering how can i guy tell what motor is in these boats, 325 or the 340 hp.

Not sure if this was true through all years .... but the 325 says it on it and red. It was called the 325 assault. I'm pretty sure the 340 is blank.

You could also run the vin through a dealer. Which wouldn't be a bad idea whether you figure it out or not.

its blank with EXT CAT on the exhaust, i figuring its the 340.

my supra had the 340 in it. it was called the ext cat motor.

the regular assault motor uses squirrels, the extcat motor uses cats :)

I bought it a couple months ago, had the sale pending a once over at the local dealer, dealer told me it had a hundred less hours on it then advertised and was in good shape.The only thing i had too do was change the one tire and rewired the trailer, i was under the assumption that it had the 325 in it until i was reading through the manual. The boat has some spider cracks and 2 nicks out of the fiberglass just above the swim platform. its a used boat with a 180 hrs on it, cant expect much more.
