Got a chance to sail in a sailboat race last week in San Diego. Coranado to be precise. I absolutely loved the quiet. Might start doing some more sailing later this summer.

Kind owners invited me to join their crew.

Looking back at a few we passed.

17636

Rounding the marker out on the bay.

17637

Heading for home.

17638

Lots of different kinds of boats/ships to see out there.

17639

Dock, make fast all the equipment and head for the BBQ. Great weeknight fun, that's for sure.

Couple other highlights of my day and a half of downtime.

View from Point Loma lighthouse looking back toward San Diego and Coronado.

17641

Lunch by the Pacific in La Jolla watching swimmers play with all the seals or sea lions or whatever the heck they were.

17642

Glad I stayed an extra day. I had never been south of Anaheim and always wanted to see it. The sailing was a huge bonus.

I miss San Diego/Coronado something bad. Too bad family is all on the East coast.

Florida is a fabulous place to sail. Hobie Cats in the early 1980's was my thing at Ft Walton Beach. I haven't touched it since but I would if I lived there. Sailing in a wet suit doesn't interest me.

My Dad isn't healthy enough to use his Prindle anymore. I need to run down to Clearwater to pick it up. Time for a visit soon.
