The State of Florida has determined that Mary and I would be good parents to a 15 month old boy, Ryan. So, on Monday they will be removing him from his current care givers and bringing him to us. Once the paper work and time requirements are met, we will be adopting him.

We are both excited and scared. We were hoping to have him today, but that didn't work out. We only found out about him and the possibility of this on Monday, so it is happening a lot faster than we expected. We had just finished the required classes and paperwork in the last 2 weeks.

So, we have gone from expecting a 7-12 year old and it taking 6 months to a year to a 15 month old in about a week.

I'll post up pics next week when we meet him for the first time at our home.

Awesome...Traditionally you have 9 months to prepare and still isn't enough time.
Give that guy lots of love and show him the "good life".

Congrats Paul and Mary! I am extremely proud of you and am confident you will be wonderful parents. You should still have my cell # so feel free to call if you need anything (that goes for Donna as well) or PM any time. Enjoy your new and much more meaningful life. Please post a family pic when you get a chance.

Just got back from ATL. The Jam was great, saw the family, and picked up a truck load of baby/toddler stuff from my sister (her kids are 5 and 9). So that saved $$$$$ for cribs, strollers, toys, etc. Mary's family is local and are a great help also.

Yes, this is our first/only child.
