05-28-2013, 01:23 PM
Is there a lift or boat stays in the water?

05-28-2013, 01:29 PM
yeah, buddy! glad to see it's underway.

add some crawfish and beers and that will be The Jam!

05-28-2013, 01:38 PM
whens the open house for the moomba forums???

05-28-2013, 01:44 PM
it'll have a hanging lift in it... cradle lift...
The designer just showed a boat in it for looks. thats on a short canal to main lake but thankfully is no wake, but still wouldnt want to leave in water.. Lunmar boat lifts are 2 hours from here.. i'll be able to go pick up and take to my lot and save some freight.
OPEN HOUSE? hopefullly soon.. only issue is everybody will have to ride with me.. private lake and the lake boat police is a jerk.. I got a lecture saturday before i even got in the lake.. (Guilty by association of having a wakeboat!)
Funny how the wakeboats get all the blame, but the dadgum toobers are the worst! (confession, i had to pull a tube all day saturday for buddies kid, and my neices.. stood firm on Sunday/monday ! NO TUBING!

JMVOTTO, lake temps were 81-84 this weekend. :-)

MOOMBA forum member Grady is on the same lake. So we could host a few at a time for sure. He has LSV so we could have a good time out!
Back of the boat house will have a bathroom and a storage room. Storage room will have a portable a/c and a beer fridge :-).

05-28-2013, 10:25 PM

What size do ya'll have? Any advice when looking at them? I was looking at a 12' and an 11'6".

Brad, the boathouse is looking great!

07-18-2013, 12:12 PM
mine is 10"10" Its an ISLE SUP. look them up.. good prices/free shipping free carbon paddle.

I tried a buddies YOLO that was 11 and change or maybe 12' it was a bit more stable than mine..
Isle's website i believe shows some weight/expertise suggestions on each product. Under 11 most likely will generate more of a workout and core strengthening.. bigger/more stable better for just chillin. Also, they rate them based on type of water and style. (big water/wave surfing, etc).
For Price, quality, service, and delivery, I was very impressed with ISLE. THey are in SD, CA and i ordered on Thursday and it was in baton rouge by Tuesday of the next week.

07-18-2013, 12:22 PM
brad, The boat house looks great . cant wait to see a black supra in it.

07-23-2013, 12:01 PM
A lot of progress

07-23-2013, 12:04 PM
Storage room/ gonna put a bed in :-)

07-23-2013, 12:24 PM
They should have all framing done for outer walls this week and start decking upstairs
A lot came together in last few weeks.
They should set poles for stairs up this week. Waterproof the roof before decking
And soon begin the hardie board around outside.

07-23-2013, 12:32 PM
Looking really good...just can't wait to see the final finish.

07-23-2013, 12:42 PM

07-27-2013, 08:27 AM
Brad, those pics in the background boathouses as well?

If so nice looking slips right there. Yours is coming along nicely , but I am sure you would like it to be done.

Does the water on the river ever change?

07-27-2013, 05:35 PM
The house u see in background being built is built over water. Has 2 boat slips. Then 2 floors above! House is about 1200 sq ft of living space above. Cool design but not laid out well.

Dusty. I was but had to back out for family commitments (good thing is it includes using my boat! Have family coming in that weekend that I needed to stay home with but They want to go to lake all that weekend.l

And that's just a finger/cove off main lake. Water doesn't fluctuate much thankfully

07-27-2013, 06:50 PM
Awesome! Can't wait I see pics when its done!

08-17-2013, 09:20 PM
A bit disappointed to return today to find NO work done this week. Really thrilled with contractor right now. Over budget and overdue
Upper deck
View of outside dock
My two interior rooms have doors. Can't get water at lot yet so have not pushed on finishing the bathroom. I can at least lock the storage room and leave stuff. Yet to pull boat into the boathouse as builder still has his work barge in there. (2 Jon boats tied together and plywood for a deck. )

At least I can tie up to dock and use that and room to set up some stuff now.
Never thought it would be September finishing. Ugh
Neighbor started this jul 1. 3 weeks after my builder! I picked the wrong guy !

09-08-2013, 08:43 AM
It's pretty well complete sans paint and boatlift
I got painters quote yesterday and gasped. Decided ill be painting!!!!
More pics on good cam to come

09-08-2013, 08:48 AM
Looking good,

Pizza and beer party painting party at brads.

09-08-2013, 08:48 AM
Looks great! Congratulations!

09-08-2013, 10:16 AM
Obviously the bathroom and storage room are dried in with the metal roof, do you have any type of roof over the boat lift area?

How do you get waste water back over to land into the sewer?

09-08-2013, 11:40 AM
There is a later of plywood, roofing felt and tar under the upper deck. There is a slight peak down middle that angles water to sides. Last rain I was there the roof was water right but there was some runoff that came down the inside walls. Great for keeping boat dry but long term concern about wood rot. Contractor was supposed to caulk some to fix.

There is a sewer line run through the seawall for now. Have not connected water and septic As the community water is on hold. So I haven't finished the bathroom out. Not going to drill a well just for boathouse bathroom. Waiting to find out deal on water. (Developer and community water folk are fighting over maintenance of neighborhood lines). Not sure if I will need a pump to get sewer up hill to where septic will go (prob will).

Yet to get hoist to install. Work travel keeps delaying such.

03-06-2014, 03:55 AM
TTT...lets see some pics..its been a few months

03-06-2014, 02:47 PM
Not much progress since last pic other than lift is in. I posted a pic in march thread if boat in there.
I am soon to paint it and finish up a few things.

03-07-2014, 01:39 PM
