Hope everyone that wants to get out on this weekend is able to and stays safe.

A few folks weren't too lucky on Lake Lanier.

I had orthoscopic surgury Friday so hopefully I can get out of the house tomorrow and participate in a picnic. The knee is doing well. The weather isn't conducive to boating anyway.

Hope everyone does have a safe weekend and remember those who gave all so that we clan enjoy it!

As for me I will be at the lake but not on the boat. Had a hip replacement on the 6th. But I get to watch momma and the kids enjoy it......the smiles are what really matter.

Out all day yesterday and everyone was very well behaved. Friendly folks out there. Today and tomorrow will be all the idiots and we'll be sitting by the pool.

Another sad boating story from this weekend. Amazingly, they do not think alcohol was a factor. Stay safe out there guys!

Oh, that's awful.

The one from Lanier looks like everyone will be OK and the suspect turned himself in after Dad checked on his boat. Good Dad, IMO.

I have the pleasure and honor of working a memorial detail today that honors fallen soldiers from Ft Hood TX. last year 6 soldiers were killed in the line of duty. each year a memorial is unveiled with the pictures of the fallen for the previous year. I will get some photos and post later. God Bless America and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

4 of the 6 fallen had family members in attendance. very emotional as each year is. having friends that have paid the ultimate sacrifice makes this a very special day for me.

now that the sentimental part of the day is over it's times to put a smile on my face and go home to enjoy my family. have a great day everyone

Petty, THANKS for your service. Those folks may not be able to directly share their appreciation with you, but I'm certain they all would tell you how thankful they are for your actions.

Thanks for the service of all of our Military men and women every where and a special thanks to those on this forum. I know many who have served but none who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

My memorial day marks 1 and a half weeks of work done, 1 and a half to go. Out co. man out here ordered 14 sacks of crawfish for boil up today and I just helped myself to 6 plates. Not bad for being at work.

Petty, I made the same trip to Veterans Memorial here in Houston. I had to pay my respect to my fellow service men & women who paid the ultimate price.

Always remain Semper Fidelis,

Please accept our support and thanks as you honor us and all of our families with your service to our fallen heroes and their families on this day. We are honored to count you and them as our blessed friends and fellow patriots. I did not have the honor of serving this great nation but have grandparents, uncles, in-laws, cousins and nephews who have served in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Thank you for taking the time to honor the memory of our country's servants who gave so much that we might still be free! Happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all who serve and who served so honorably!

Hope I get a chance to tell you guys the USMC history of our family some day. And the Army and Coast Guard stories as well. I'll be buying for y'all by the way. Stop by any time. And I mean it. Still trying to head out your way in August but not sure yet.
