So i have a list going of all the updates i want to give my 06 mobius to make it feel as new as possible w/ all these updates moomba is doing.

i ordered my tower mount mirror today from onlyinboards.com, should be getting it later in the week. Also Friday im going to a stereo install place to re-wire my stereo (i did myself a few years back and have wires everywhere) to tighten it up and make it "professional install"

i've also decided to take off all my Decals for now, (i have a bad scratch on one side of my boat, and the other is scruffed up from rubbing against a dock i was parked at overnight)

Couple ?'s

i'm gonna use a heat gun, buy some goo gone or 3m adhesive remover (where is best place to buy) and what should i use to help peal it off other than my fingernail (dont have much) and where should i pick it up at?

i'll probably go naked for a little while but im very interested in putting the Chrome Lettering Decals on. Where do i find these and what price should i be looking at. I have found them on 2 sites but they want $210 just for the MOOMBA 69' (1 Side Only)

Thanks

And if anyone has a pic of a yellow LSV naked (real or photoshoped) that would be cool to see what its gonna look like.

You may find that if you park the boat in the sun, a hair dryer is all you need to remove the decals, plus the goo gone. I wouldnt buy the other stuff until you try that first.

Start wherever the decal is already starting to come up or where you can grab an edge.

Cynde at Atlanta Marine gave us a deal on the decals last season. I think it was under $400 for both sides & transom. Tell her you are from the forum and see if she can do that deal again.

I put this on another thread, but may help you as well...

Depends on how much sun your boat has seen on the decals....
My 08 LSV was on a slip year round since new and the drivers side saw the sunrise every morning, other side never unless out of the slip...
I removed my decals couple weeks ago and the passenger side came off in one pull using a hair dryer and my fingernail. Took a total of 10 minutes, taking my time!!! I was excited!!! Went around to the drivers side.... 3 hours later I was only halfway done and my hands/fingers were toast!!! I sprayed goo gone on it and let it sit over night and finished it up the next day, which wasn't any easier... Just giving you a heads up if yours has seen a lot of sun!
Also I read acetone will eat the gel coat in the long run so maybe steer clear of that and if you have a local car store you may go buy a 3M adhesive removal wheel that attaches to a cordless drill to make the job a little faster if you decals have seen a lot of sun!!!

i took the swirl off of my 04 and kept the moomba part..i used a hairdryer first (it worked well ) and then my buddy came over with a mini propaine torch(at a distance and for a few seconds to heat up the glue)...i used my finger nails and a plastic razor blade (not sharp where it will cut into your gelcoat but will help pull up the decal

Meh - I just use Photoshop. Only takes 2 fingers and doesn't hurt your gelcoat at all...

heat gun and a plastic scraper, came off easy just work at it slow. Didnt need goo gone at all just some paint remover to remove the wax build up around the letters.

Just my opinion but yellow is one of those colors that needs something to break it up.

Thought I'd give it a shot but I'm not very good at it.

Kind of a tricky one due to the angle and the reflections making the color vary.

So says the master. Nice.

I do like the Chrome best against the red.

The more I look at the chrome graphics the more I am liking them! We have a 04 Mobius LSV with the big "tribal" looking graphic on the side and now want a cleaner look.

The only thing keeping me from doing it today is the $210 per side price tag....already bought a new cover, re-painted the swim platform, added a seadek pad, and Bimini top this spring!

I still have an aftermarket set for both sides I'll sell for $160 shipped. They are hard to put on but one guy on here did a great job with them and his look very nice. I'll see if I can find the thread.

Here is brandon's thread with pics of how his came out. If you are interested you can PM him for info on how he did the install or just get a shop to do it.
