Does anyone know how to hook up a water supply to a 2003 direct drive outback ls? I'm trying to work some kinks out and don't want to drive the hour to the lake.

So many ways, here is mine:
Loosen the hose clamp where the fresh water intake hose attaches to the through hull OR the stainer, stick your garden hose in the black rubber pipe going towards your engine, turn in your hose and start your boat.
Make sure you have adequate water supply, I regulate mine with a plastic ball valve made for garden hoses, the $2.00 one.

Use the "fake a Lake" and a garden hose. Lookes loke the old school toilet plunger with a garden hose connection. The plunger end fits over the water intake under the boat.

Do a search on "plunger" and you will see how to make one for about $8.

Is there such a thing as a new school plunger?

$8 bucks is about right!
bought me a "fake-a-lake" plunger about 4 years ago and found that my home-made one works alot better. Never could get the plunger to seal right on the hull!

Here's what I use. Just connect it to where the water intake goes into your vdrive.

Pretty much what I use/do. I just cut off a 2" section of my intake hose (I had extra) and clamp it to a 1 1/4" barbed by 3/4" thread with a hose thread adapter.
Slip the intake hose off, slide and clamp the adapter on... easy.
