Need some help/recommendations...

We take a group trip to Gulf Shores every year with friends from back home who have a condo in Gulf Shores. To make a long story short, some things came up last minute and the trip got cancelled. My gf and I have decided its not worth paying the $150 each to cancel our tickets and rescheduling so we are going to go ahead and make the trip solo next weekend. We are flying into Pensacola and were planning on renting a car and driving to Gulf Shores, but since we can't stay at my buddies condo anymore we are trying to decide what to do and where to stay....

We want to be somewhat close to the beach, but don't necessarily have to stay at a beach front hotel. We also want to make sure were not in the "Family" area and more in the "Fun" area. I'm 29, but when I'm on vacation I'll always be 18 at heart 😁😎

Any help and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Whoa ... 2 things

1. Great time to go. Hangout fest is this weekend. Where yall planning to go to that out just happen to fall like that time wise?

2. Hangout is going to make it tough to find a place.

Sevilles in Downtown Pcola is a good Thurs and Saturday night club area.

Peg Leg Petes, FLounders, and Hooters on the beach are all good Fri-Sun.

Stop by the Naval Aviation Musuem on NAS Pensacola during your hangover recovery time. The Blues don't practice now due to budget cuts.

Check out "the Caribe" for a place to stay. Hands down top 5 in the area. Has a lazy river and is closer to orange beach where the water is a little nicer

Looks like almost everything is booked up in gulf shores for this HangOut Fest so if we don't end up finding something there we will definitely be hitting up Pensacola for sure!

And Brad, you sir are a High Rolling Vacationer if you stay at The Cribe haha jk that would be nice for our big crew but me and the ole lady are pretty simple! We just need a bed to lay a head when we get ready to call it a day after being on the beach!!! Don't get me wrong those places are nice and my buddies condo is in The Turquoise Place and it is A. Mazing, but I don't even want to think what people have to pay to rent that thing either... Ouch!!!

I enjoyed staying at Navarre. It is away from Pensacola enough to make it quieter.

Don't go to Navarre around Memorial Day unless you are into the alternative lifestyle. It is a weekend of change for a normally conservative region of the South.

We actually just found a 1 bedroom condo at 40% off for 2 nights at $400!!! Can't best that for waterfront balcony view! Phoenix X beside Florbama, hopefully just out of range from the Hangout Fest to get too rowdy but close enough to jump in there if we're feeling frisky... 😎

The Floribama is quite the rowdy hangout spot at night...FYI

KG we may just do it, were kind of spur of the moment type folks!

And yea I figured its gonna be a little rowdy since its HangoutFest, but if it gets too bad well get away from errbody and head somewhere else.... Or we might just fit right in LOL

The Florabama is always a hot spot. You can see things there that you won't see anywhere else in the U.S.

Usually, you didn't want to see it.
