Welcome to a new Month, whatcha got?

Last night Claudia's birthday gift from March came in.

A new custom 4.8 Soulcraft board.
Agenda Traction

This is a Day of the Dead < Día de Muertos > design she and Chelsi came up with.

If you look closely you can see all her sisters names, Rosario Leos, Sandra Zamarripa, Connie Monarrez, Loren Medina, Mary Garay, Jessica Bernal, Burtha Compos. Of course Mala is in the background being sneaky evil.

This goes along with mine that i got. A Grim Reaper playing Poker with my nickname on the cards.

Then we hire an artist to do the art work on the board before its finished that way it wont come off when you surf and store the board.

I want to say the board is around 700 and the art work was 150. You can also buy his boards premade for cheaper. The term custom made is just that, he makes it what ever length, thickness, fin set up, tail option you want.

If someone rides one of my boards and wants one of their own then you would contact him, ask him for my board and he would make a duplicate, but i own the original basically.

chels is the bomb on the painting front... got to meet her when I did the last 2 soulcraft boards. she's great to talk to.. got to see some of her other art projects.. she can do anything.

I've seen some of Jeff's premade stuff in the dealers for the high5's, but if it's your first board from him, spend the cash, do custom sizing and def. do the artwork. makes it unique.

Ironcross25

springfield lake. springfield is usually not crowded and can get good water unless its windy. Portage is to wasted anymore. we just go there to cruise and hit the bars.

chadjitsu1
05-04-2013, 09:28 PM
I hear ya, my cousin used to barefoot on Springfield all the time. Portage is a waste unless you like sitting in traffic on the lake. Its crazy how you can only ski on certain days during certain hours.

You should come to GA where you don't need a spotter, don't need to wear a life jacket while skiing, and you can drink beer while driving a boat.

I guess both places have their draw backs

Hope you stay on Lanier and off my lake.

Don't know where you got you're info, but you're 100% wrong. GA just passed a law that .08 is now a BWI that carries similar penalties to a DUI.

I agree that I may not have been clear in my post that the laws in Georgia are relaxed to the point that they are dangerous in a lot of ways. I am sorry that you were so personally offended in my suggestion that someone should come to Georgia to go boating so that they could get drunk, pull a skier who is not wearing a life jacket, and not have anyone there to tell him that the skier wiped out.

I would have thought that the comment / joke would have been self explanatory especially since I wrote that both places have their draw backs.

I'm sure that you were also personally offended that someone would suggest that children would be drinking and doing blow during the Lanier Moomba Jam. Although I found that comment to be extremely funny I'm sure that there were others that found that comment to be personally offensive. I will step up and make an apology for that persons comments as well while I'm at it.

I don't have an issue admitting when I do something wrong or admitting when I over react.

That's correct but in the sun and out on the water all day it don't take long. Not that I think you are being reckless or intoxicated because I don't, not for a minute but.....game wardens don't need a warrant to board your vessel. Once they see you sipping and board your vessel, and they will board, it's their discretion as to if administer a breathalyzer or not. If they feel you have had to much to drink to safely operate vessel/motor vehicle you can still be charged with DWI/BWI and arrested. This includes your boat and possibly your truck being impounded. You might beat the charge but you won't beat the ride. and the money you spend defending yourself will be astronomical. If you refuse the breathalyzer they will likely arrest you for suspicion of DWI /BWI

Best/safest practice is to not drink that cold one while driving your boat. Better yet don't drink that beer while in the drivers seat

Yes sir, impaired is the law so people still get dwi's under .08, just not as common. People don't just beat them either, got a buddy in a bad fight on one right now at a .06, not to get into all the specifics, BUT the guy was in his own driveway and will lose his job if it sticks.

Cinco de Mayo, we got out with Boonejeeping and family, Ran into Al Cab, i think i saw Miller Da and i even saw our new member PDX 12 Mojo, I saw a lot of him, but not sure he saw us, me and his Wife waved and said hi while he was getting his Red tow vehicle LOL.

Hagg was SUPER windy yesterday, 16mph and 30+ gusts most of the day. We made the attempt at surfing around 130 after being on the lake for 2.5 hours waiting. It wasnt good, the water was just so choppy the wave was really inconsistent.

By 5pm the wind started dying down and we surfed till 8pm LOL.
We were die hard, waiting it out, and got a small reward in the end.

Looks like the dog is happy. I see you have the G0Pro suction cup mount on the boat there. How are the pictures from there? The one thing that I dislike about the GoPro is that it doesn't have a zoom on it. I really wish you could zoom in just a little to catch the action behind the boat.

This dog reminds me of my friend dog. I went to his house and was eating pizza. The dog approaches me and kept staring at my pizza. I thought that if I didn't offer him the pizza then I'm going to be his meal of the night.. My friend was upstairs to escape me from that, I got up from my seat slowly and grabbed the pizza sliced and fed him.. After that, He was sitting next to me and like I'm the dang owner .... HAHAHA

Judge said the Deputy didn't have enough proof that he was going to drive away even though he was drunk and had no other means of transportation. The Judge "educated" the Deputy and gave the kid a Public Intox instead!

That's like some minority report stuff right there. Accusing someone of a crime before they commit it. He'll he could have just decided to crawl in the back seat and sleep it off, how can they prove that was not his plan???

If you have to sleep it off, best to hide the keys and play like you don't have them. At home though, I dare a friggin' cop to come into my garage and try to DWI me. Bring it!

We have plenty of extra water to give!! Please come get it!! Pretty soon these picnic tables will be another one of those vanished things swallowed by the rising lake! It is projected to land 10ft above summer pool. Campgrounds, picnic areas, even launch ramps are closed. We have had so much rain the flood gates on the dam can't keep up.

Allatoona is a large, yet relatively shallow lake and probably most impacted of all metro ATL lakes with no/extra rainfall.

I think my driveway's too small. Beautiful last couple of days, and there's nowhere I can put either boat in the water. The river, 5 minutes away, is too high. And all the lakes are still frozen.

Sunday was in the mid 80’s here so I took the boat out for the first time this year, which is pretty early for us. Took (7) 20-somethings from work and wakeboarded non-stop for about 5 hours (other than a quick break for lunch).

On a side note, my starting battery was DOA at the ramp so we ran both the stereo and the boat from the (2) stereo batteries all day with no issues. Just flipped my Blue Sea battery switch from “1” to “Combine” and we were off. Time for a new starting battery. I got 6 years out of the original so I guess it was time.

Here is a pic from that lunch break. It was the only pic I took all day.

Went out Monday 5-6-13 With Brian from Exile, Nat fron Exile, Brian's bro in law Mike, his buddy Craig, Russ, and Claudia's frined Evan. I even felt generous can picked up this older gent at the dock with his wake board in tow. Turns out he was a old school pro waterski and boarder. He was seriously fun to watch.

He honestly said it was one of his favorites and this was the first time he rode behind a Mojo.
I was running the IBS 650 and hard tank 500 Wake plate up at 20mph he was 50 off.

He just kept saying how big and beefy the ramp was, from the boat it looks big. He said he came to the parking lot and saw our trailer and prayed we would be near the dock LOL.

Over all he seemed very impressed, he might meet us on May 18th at Demo days for a few sets as well. If so ill get more video.

Nice words from him and you didn't even have it slammed. Helps to validate what I've been trying to tell folks - while the Mojo is arguably the best surf boat in the SC lineup, it wasn't designed to do only this. Like most of SC's products, it does just about whatever you want really, really well.

Lol, I think that was our first outing with the new boat. I remember seeing a bunch of moomba's out that day. I remeber thinking to myself are there always this many moombas out here, or am i just noticing them because i have one now. Almost had to give a jump start to one of them (until he realized he had 2 other batteries on board). I dont remember seeing another mojo though. I will keep an eye out next time.
That was one of the busiest days I have ever seen hagg, and windy too. Did you see that sailboat sink in the no wake zone? Once it went to its side I went down like a rock. We finally decided to pull the tube out for the 4 year old and make the best of it.

Actually No their isn't that many Moombas on the lake normally. The Blue and Black LSV i have seen a few times, and then the guys i know, Al, Millerdad, are the normal. With it getting so warm a lot of people pulled their boats out of storage early. I wont go to Hagg on a weekend after Memorial day, way to crowded and crazy.

Yes i saw the Sail boat at one point, no i didn't see it sink. I wonder what happened? I havn't found an article on it to see what happened.

Taking me a while to make it thru this thread but I will chime in about the mojo wakeboard wake. I know that I have been on here a few times about the wakeboard wake, but I am going to talk again. The Mojo's wakeboard wake is FANTASTIC!!!!! Was out again on the weekend and have almost got it dialed in and its so much fun. The biggest ticket for the Mojo is the fact that it needs nose weight. I am not running crazy amounts of weight up front but between 400-800 extra and that has made so much difference. Total weight for experienced people is roughly 1800-2000 rear 450 center full, and the at least 400 nose with just a few people in boat and its very nice, has a ton of pop and makes it almost effortless. I will be putting some pics together from the first 2 outings soon that will hopefully help out, but MOJO i cant get over how much fun and how good it is. Oh ya and by adding nose weight made the wake so much more consistent. Well there my rant for today.

How was the water? We went to West Point for Mother's day and it was full of everything but the kitchen sink, I'm sure it was there just not floating. I did score a nice milk crate that floated by. We couldnt do any boarding out of fear of tearing something up. We had to idle the entire time out. If I wouldnt have brought some people that paid for my gas I would have loaded up and went home.

Hey pdx, that was me! I had a momentary brain fart there as it was also my first time out this year, and my Moomba has NEVER not started before so I forgot I had the ability to combine the batteries. The stereo batteries were fully charged so it fired right up once I remembered :)

The water was very choppy and too many wakes (LOL it was little cold esp when you splash the water HAHA).. We didn't score anything but one of my friend's friend lost his glasses when they fell off the JetSki.. It was very hilarious scene for me. His friend didn't know how to swim and I made sure his life jacket is good (that dude still panicked and 2-3 boat gathered around him to SAVE him since I was about to Load my boat and had to put reverse gear to bring him out)..

After I loaded the boat, I took my friend JetSki and my legs are hurting like a mudda-fudda

Hey pdx, that was me! I had a momentary brain fart there as it was also my first time out this year, and my Moomba has NEVER not started before so I forgot I had the ability to combine the batteries. The stereo batteries were fully charged so it fired right up once I remembered :)

Al

Im glad everything worked out for you!!! I was a little nervous about docking for the first time in it since this is my first inboard boat. The wind would have also made that pretty fun too. But I would have done it if you needed it...;)

Mike and I have had a running debate over the water temp over the years. His last two boats, the temp always reads about 5 degrees warmer than mine. Two weeks ago when I saw him at Hagg, his was reading 65 and mine was reading 60. I don't know, it felt more like 60 than 65 to me. But he is on his second boat now so I guess it's my gauge that is off.

Maybe someone else that has been at Hagg in the last week and a half can tell us what their temp gauge read so we can settle this debalte once and for all? :)

Casey, you do KNOW that there ARE alligators on Lake Lewisville right? Don't kid yourself. And I have not see any yet this year but our neighbors at the lake house had one that wouldnt leave there front yard for a few days. They thought it was dead because it wasn't moving, the dog was even sniffing it, so one of them hit it with a rake and apparently it was very much so alive. It woke up and quickly scurried off into the water haha. I bet it scared the crap out of poor Larry!

Thanks, due to the river being so low right now adding a bunch of weight does nothing but drink more gas. So with that said, I'm pulling him 22.5 (downstream) 70' and ballast is stock 60% front tank and 40% in the rear. I guess that will equal about 400lbs in front and about 350lbs in each bag in back.

The river is down to about between 9 and 14 feet. Lake Oologah which is north of the port has been so low that the dam has been closed since early last summer. Any additional rains in the area should start to raise the levels in the river closer to the +20ft mark.

I bet the 21v would be a fun one to ride!

Now that the pictures are working, a couple from the Ohio river....getting nice out but the water is still frezzing. None the less you have to hit the water when its this smooth!!

Ya the wife is the skier, unfortunatly she dropped a wakeboard on her toe taking it from the Armada to the boat...haha. She was a little bummed cause the water was so nice(not temp) but no way was she getting on the ski! One of these days Ill try the ski out, I think that ive only tried it once or twice.

There is! Its called transheild. Its heat shrinkable and it goes over your cover. Completely reusable. I've got one on mine right now that I borrowed and it works great. Its got a draw string on the bottom and a zipper door for access. I think they are $150ish.

How did the new speakers work out?

They flat out ROCK! I love them! They sound great and I can play them all day without the amp getting hot or the battery dying. Definitely worth the $ and the best setup I could've chosen IMHO. Total difference between what I had last year to this year. What a difference the right tower setup (Syn4 and a pair of REV10s) and a good tune on the factory (Kicker) gear can do.
