Tower Diameter 2007 Outback V

I'm adding a new surf rack and having trouble finding the tube diameter size for 2007 Outback V to add rack. Anyone help? Boat way back in inside storage and cant get to it! Thx

It's 1 5/8" diameter.

I just realized that my current racks are mounted on the horizontal bar on the tower not on the 'tube'. Anyone know if a standard rack 'tube mount' will work on that bar and if so what diameter that would need to be? Or do I need special factory clamp? Thx.

I am running into the same problem. My plan is to mount the oval brackets from the stock racks to the back plate of the newer racks that are out there now.
