It's the middle of April and winter just refuses to die. The snow was melting painstakingly slowly, and the river is just starting to break up.

My hockey season ended up 3 weeks ago, and I'm patiently waiting for summer to grab hold sometime this year.

I woke up this morning, only to have to brush newly fallen snow off the car, about 2" total by the end of the day.

I'm really starting to consider a move quite a bit south, maybe Texas. I know there are a few of you out that way.

I know this is by far the longest spring I can remember. At least when the water was still cold you could get out and hit a couple rounds golfing. This is ridiculous.

I really, really hate to add to this but, I am bummed a cool front is coming through this weekend. High's in the low 70's. For us, that is too cool to go out. Boy, how much hate did I just bring on myself??

Well, you know what they say about March-- comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb. Oh, wait. It's April already. No wonder it's going to be 85 today.

Just come for a visit. Stay here cheap. I'll take a week off and we can hang out. You'll be in board shape for the season and only have to wait another 2 months.

Agreed, I thought for sure I would be able to check out my new frontage by now. Granite peak closed just this past Saturday and there is still plenty of snow up there.

Would never live North again!
Been out a bunch of times already,

What do they say, once you go South, you never.....never mind, you know what I mean.

Biggest problem with Texas is nothing west of I35 is getting enough rain. Even my lake east of I45 is about a foot lower than it was this time last year. I hate La Niņa

We are 40 feet below average on Travis. The only good news is every public ramp is closed and I pretty much have a 60 mile long private lake.

Boy you don't know how tempting that is. Only problem is I'd probably not get on the plane back home.......

Speaking of which, I think I'm going to get a course for work this year and am trying to convince the wife to let me take one in Orlando, of course she'll be coming. She want's San Jose. I've been married 30 years so I already know how this "discussion" is going to turn out.

San Jose California?? Must be some other San Jose, cause nobody picks San Jose over Orlando! I loved Orlando's weather when I did some DOD work a couple of years ago.

Yep, at least you can visit SF and Napa!
