I added a swivel and raised the seat about 4 inches. Still need to clean it up and paint.

Why did you want such a lift? Does that seat have no flip up bolster?

There's no booster seat so we have to sit on lifevests, the seat is way way to low... :)

my seat bolster is horribly uncomfortable and your back hates you at the end of a day on the water. i usually sit on our throwable seat cushion but i may raise out seat 3 inches or so one day.

That looks awesome thanks for the inspiration. I think I'll build mine out of some aluminum and put a little compartment under there.

That was the plan for more storage, but it's only 3 inches, not much can be stored in there.

Great place for reg docs, insurance card, etc that might come in handy should you meet up with whomever patrols your water.

Not sure why I didn't think of this, for some reason I was thinking beer & suntan storage only...

1in angle iron, some 3in x 13in(ish) x 1/8 scrape pieces, I also offset the chair 1-2in towards port to provide some more room for the throttle handle..

For anyone else looking to purchase this swivel, Gander Mountain carries this same model in stock for $19.99 and the non locking model for $9.99.

Curious as to why you did not adjust the angle of the fabbed bracket so that the swivel would be parallel with the floor. Looks like the seat will lean forward when turned 180 degrees.

Didn't think of it, this is version 1.0.a.

I doubt the swivel will get much use. Really just needed to raise the seat. The swivel was an after thought, even with offsetting the seat I can't rotate the seat much father than pictured. If it does bother us it'll give me an excuse to use my plasma cutter.. :D

That is weird about the Gander Mountain price being less. Gander Mountain bought Overtons a few years ago, so they are the same company now.

They are the same at least online.

You'll wanna fix that. You will use the swivel way more than you originally anticipated. I'll vouch for that one. Love the swivel-- second best mod I have done.

I like how the online price is higher than in store. Yesterday I bought a non locking swivel from the Gander Mountain in Kalamazoo, MI for $9.99. The the locking one was $19.99. Neither one was on sale, and the prices were clearly labeled on the shelf. I was going to get the locking one, but it had the cheap plastic spacer, whereas the non locking had ball bearings. Both swivels were made by "Wise."

This was the best mod! Used it all day today loved that it doesn't lock, makes it easy to turn around and watch the surfers..
