Hopefully you all don't mind me posting pics of our new boat here. 2013 Z3, we unwrapped it from the transport cover on Saturday morning (40 degrees and raining) and we're still a couple weeks out from ice-out and a water test. I got the Evolution cover for it, and have my box of ballast upgrade goodies in the garage waiting for delivery.

Thats one sharp looking boat bro, Your going to love it man. I know the 3 times i have surfed behind the Z3 it was awesome man. If the numbers would have matched up a little better this year we would have got a Z3.

SC made my numbers match so i had to give the Mojo a good 3-4 summer run LOL

Sandm, thanks for the help so far, I have my notes all ready to go, but I know I'll have questions as I get into it.

HAHA never noticed that. I do think its funny Claudia's VW Passatt speedo says 180mph and i bet it wont do much over 100 LOL.

My diesel says 100 if i recall and i have pulled the boat doing 90 going to LBC lol

Yes sir, we have pushed it hard already in testing, odly enough im getting a better looking wave with less weight, kinda strange as i keep thinking of Ed G minimalist surfing LOL.

maybe better distributed weight than a ton in the back and a ton in the nose.

couple weeks from an ice-out water test? you see the forecast for the rest of the week??
not sure yet why I'm here :)

Yes its weight distribution. I am finding that the wave is looking a lot better, smoother, longer pocket and a nice flat top on it with 1500lbs in the front and only 500 in the rear. Havn't rode the wave like this yet, just have some video.

I also notices with the weight like this i can go through my entire wake plate travel and the wave is very clean just gets bigger.

I tool another video of how when you go too fast with the Mojo it roster tails over your wave and as you slow down you can see the wave cleaning up. I need to get these up loaded so i can start a thread LOL.

When I take delivery (depends on ice-out here in MN) in the next couple of weeks, the Convex VX will be on it.

What do you have planned for the ballast? Didn't that Z3 come pretty well set up?

I got the pro ballast option which is 2-550lb bags in front, 2-250lb tanks in rear, and 2-350lb bags in rear (total 2,300lbs)

Here are the highlights of changes I'll make:

1. Add custom L-shaped enzo sacs (replace stock piggyback rear bag).
2. Add additional fill pump to each rear side (so two pumps filling each bag).
3. Add xLink pump (reversible) to shorten the time to change sides. Of the 5 in the family, I'm the only regular-side rider...
4. Add dedicated drain pumps to the enzo sacs (current setup is that the bag drains down into the hard tank).
5. Re-route drain and vent lines to the opposite side of the boat to prevent passive draining.
6. Add check valves to rear fill lines to prevent passive draining.
7. Front setup is going to be left alone, except that I'll T the drains and vents so that I can use the newly vacant thru-hull for the drains from step 4, and not have to drill any more holes in the boat.

haha, I did it on my LSV and didn't have any issues, but if I can get away with not doing it, I'll take that route :) and thanks again for the continued help with the wiring and all of my other questions regarding these mods

Picked it up last night. That's the Evolution cover on it, fits like a glove (a tight glove😀).

I got nervous when I looked out the window because the boat looked taller than our expedition, which fits in the garage with 3" to spare so I got Peggy to help me take the tower down (which is spring assisted so I just needed a spotter). But I took a 4 ft level and laid it across the windshield and the then high point of the tower and they both measured 6' 10". Whew! I upgraded the axles so they weren't sure how much this would add to the overall height.
