How do you manually lock you trailer brakes so they want work,

Sharpshooter - Look for a keyway on the trailer tongue. It is on the side, within a foot of the cup that drops over the hitch ball. It is large enough of an opening for a nickel or quarter coin. Set the coin in the opening and cover with tape to keep it in place. This prevents the surge mechanism from working when you back the trailer. Be sure to remove the coin, otherwise you will compromise safety next time pulling the trailer. For better instructions, check the Boatmate web site for the owner manual. - Deerfield

Be careful with the coin method as some have posted issues with the coin slipping and getting wedged between the two pieces on the tung
