Have it, and you don't want to see it!!!

Told my kid that we need to get our camera fixed as it seems to be adding about 20 lbs to anyone over 50, has to be some kind of adjustment....

Ballast and wake plate?
Currently running stock 2013 ballast. 60% in back and 85-90% in front tank. Wake plate between all the way down and 1/4 up. On this day we also had 2 people in the front and 5 people in the back.

Would the rider describe the wake as narrow? He was effortlessly in the flats every jump. Just curious

Haven't really discussed it. His parents have an 04 wake setter and he says the wake seems very similar. Regardless of what he rides, his style seems effortless.

If an all black boat is "murdered out" then what's an all white boat?

White tower on that might look sharp. Guess that could depend on the interior.

Ghost....... Agree a white tower would look sweet.

When I saw the first pics of "Bestia" before Mmandley got it I was hoping for a white tower in mine. The plan was to go all white with blue accent and white tower. Once I found out that wasn't an option I talked my son into black with blue accent.

That boat has an SC in the registration number, is that South Carolina? Where is that picture taken? Looks like great weather. Reason I ask about that SC is because we are moving to South Carolina this summer (July); Fort Mill right next to Lake Wylie.

I loved SC, I lived in Ft. Mill also. It was a great place to live man you will be super happy there. I now live in ATL and to be honest I don't like it as much mostly because of the traffic. Lake Wylie is really good and cheap to keep your boat out there. I kept mine at commodore yacht club. It was really affordable and the people there are really nice. The lake is awesome because there isn't a lot of boat traffic, you can usually find fairly calm water.

Lake lanier here in Atlanta will swallow your boat if your not careful. It has HUGE boats that create like 4 foot rollers. I have dipped mine a few times now and scared the hell out of myself. The only negative thing about Lake Wylie is that there is only one restaurant / bar on the whole lake and the food sucks. Beer is good though, kind of hard to mess that up right.

I would move back to Ft. Mill in a second if I could, work has moved me around a bit but I really loved that place.

A+++++ on the riding! If I could do that, I would be stoked...I just started wakeboarding last year behind my 19ft Sea Ray, and now have a Moomba, I loved so much ;)

A quick question: to get the height that you're getting (which is amazing by the way...I've never seen a non-pro go that high), do you just stand tall at the wake and let the wake do the work, or are you pushing/jumping off of the top of the wake? I can't seem to get any height on my jumps.

sicktc06
04-12-2013, 09:17 AM
When you get to the wake, stand tall. You don't really have to push or anything, just standing up will give you that "push" you need. The straighter your legs, more you'll pop. Just make sure you don't land with a leg locked... I can speak from experience on that one...

If you let your knees act as shock absorbers when you get to the wake and don't stand tall, you'll be able to do a wake to wake, but it's forced and low clearance, chances are you are edging HARD into the wake and shooting across it like a bullet. Take an easy approach, start your cut and bend your knees in the sitting down motion almost, and gradually cut in. When you get to the wake, stand up. That's all you have to do.

Everything said above is correct. Boat is on Wylie, weather was great. This week we actually surfed on Tuesday in trunks (no wetsuit) after work and had a blast. I live in Lake Wylie and work in Fort Mill. Wylie is a great lake with some amazing people. Hit me up when you get down into the area and settled and we'll get together on the water.

Beautiful, isn't it? It's normally more green than brown. However, we have had several days of rain and that tends to cloud it up alot. This is a small creek that runs behind my house. It's called Chigger Creek and dumps into Clear Creek, which leads to Clear Lake. Needless to say, none of them are very "Clear".

Yep. Clear Lake is brackish. Up where we are the salinity levels are really much lower. I was a little apprehensive at first. But, I have been ANAL about clean up after each use. My thoughts are, I will do all I can to fend off the elements and have a DANG good time with the boat and my family and friends.

I have a good friend that just bought a brand new Mojo and he is out every weekend. There are LOTS of $75k+ (X45, Wake Setter, SAN) boats on the creek every time we are out. I'm sure some have freshwater cooling, but I'd bet most don't.

I hope my boat will last many years. If it doesn't, I hope when it dies we had a helluva time on it.

Most important thing is just a good, really good engine flush after every weekend. You just don't want that water sitting in the engine and exhaust all the time.

KG, you survived the season, thought you would be off to an island for some R&R:o

Barely and nope, back at the office.

I don't think i've seen one of the center consoles on the water. I always thought it was an oddball inboard.

Lots of boats on the coast are inboards (not Mastercrafts though). Very reliable and efficient way to move a fishing boat.

The boat we chartered in key west was an inboard. I thought it was strange myself, I was expecting an outboard set up.

The master craft center consoles have also been weird to me too but kind I neat at the same time. Go fishing and wakeboarding on the same boat

An outboard motor is pretty expensive. If you have an old inboard and can get car motors from the junkyard you can run an old inboard for years. Can be very cheap for a long long time.

I got to test ride one earlier this year but I was too big, I mean IT was too small, to free ride. Felt pretty loose and squirrely for the short ride I did get though. Hope this one is big enough to float me.

We may have to up the competition to be the first 720...

Got the 58" - says for riders 190+. I'm 6'3" and about 205. Other one I rode was a smaller one but I don't recall if it was the 52 or 54. (Russ?) Overall this one is very close to my Inland Surfer Squirt which is 5' and can free ride me no problem.

I still would like to pick up a true surf style board though.

Some parts were super easy - and then a few other pieces made up for those. Had to remove some ballast lines and vented loops in the rear gunnel and the gas filler cover panels to get to some of the bolts. Notice the pylon is out? Had to pull that too in order to get the backrest off. Mine is indeed solid so going to swing by a machine shop and have them shorten it down.

Yeah - good call. Need to do a little fiberglass repair in the bow as well. Not sure if it is just from normal use/abuse, age, or perhaps too much ballast sitting on the seat but the support rail under the playpen on one side cracked and has some give to it.

I'm sure 6-800lbs sitting up there on top of the seats isn't healthy. Thinking I'll go with a triangle bow bag up there and see how that goes.
