I broke my pivoting tongue jack today, does anybody know if 1000 lbs tongue jack will do it?

thanks

Well, is it bigger than the one you broke?

Along this line if mine ever goes I would like a model that does not pivot but just runs the solid post up and down on gear teeth through a tube attached to the trailer. Has anyone ever used one of those, does the post get too close to the boat?

I have in my youth failed to lock the pivoting wheel in place and had the boat (not the Moomba) come crashing down. I never broke anything, but it was not for lack of trying.

A 1,000 lb jack should do if not you have a serious weight distribution or overweight problem. Usually the heftier jacks are the better built ones. The one Ed shows looks like a good replacement. They just don't come with an alarm when you leave them down when you drive off. Dang.
