used to have an annual golf tourney in Boise with my company. it was really more of a social beer drinking event back in the early 90's. got booted off the course the final year for someone dumping a cart in a pond next to a par3.

moved to a new course and we were all forced to behave after that.. :)

that being said, I have $20 riding on tiger not winning a major this year, so go "anybody else"....

If he's really coming back I expect it will start with the Masters. The longer rough of the US Open, British and PGA always frustrated him when he'd hit a bad drive. Augusta does not punish you quite as much for an errant drive. And, all of the par 5's set up well for his game. I also expect that as he ages (assuming he wisens too) he will be more competitive in the other majors if he can keep his head on straight.

Funny i was surfing for New "weapons of mass destruction" for the golf course last night. The new Ping G25 irons look nice...

I am using a 10 year old set of ping's. absolutely love them. thought a few times about swapping up, but really figure it's not the clubs that miss the green occasionally :)

I had a set of ping eye2 that I played for years, wish I still had them, I have a set of callaway x14 pro series I have been playing for almost 20 years, wow I just looked that up :o, so maybe it's time to change....

I got my Ping Zing 2 clones in about 1994 and still play them. I put new graphite shafts in them in about 2003. I do wonder if it would make any difference. I have added a 7 wood to my arsenal and will probably switch my 4 wood out for a hybrid club this year. Still use the same putter I went to in about 2005.

The pros have incredibly good equipment and their sponsor requires them to use the latest and greatest irons every year, but they could take our equipment and still score under par, while we could take their equipment and still shoot 20 over.

there's a lot to be said for cavityback oversize clubs vs blades.. I think I'd add 20 shots just trying to make contact with the ball in the rough with some of those blades I see in the stores..

I've played twice and I just can't get into it...if its nice enough to play golf then I'd rather spend the 4-5 hours it takes to play a round of golf on the water.

man, I was a low80's man at home. I got invited to play on a new league here. every monday night, 9 holes alternating front/back. this course is kicking my arse. if you're not straight, fairways are narrow with water on 90% of the course, rough 3-4" thick and if you're left/right of the rough, it's in 2-3ft grass that you will be lucky to find and if you do, it's typically unplayable. have yet to break 45 in 9 :( got stuck in a bunker last week that had a 5ft vertical lip that required me to hit out backwards away from the green.


maybe I do need new irons ;) that should help.
