DANG... My children must never see this. They think I do a good job of lights. Ignorance is bliss! :)

We have a couple of neighborhoods where they all go all out. Kind of cool. I used to get up on the roof and line all the gables and stuff. Now I just throw some in the bushes and my wife hangs some wreaths. Looks pleasant/nice, but not overdone. Easy to take down. No ladders.

Belton lake does a deal called Nature in Lights. it's 5 miles of Christmas lights ranging from basic to led animated movers. 5 bucks a car load and a Santa village at the end. it's a great family tradition and a spectacular display of holiday spirit. all at our wonderful belton lake

There are a lot of decorations in Greatwood. Probably 4 or 5 houses like mine that are animated to music. There is also one that has a santa roller coaster that runs all through the yard. A bunch of big static displays too.

So yes, a lot of people put out lights. Come on by.

WOW!

Ron, that is AWESOME!

You're going to cause our Nothern brother, rtsinger, to rethink his Scrooge plan of doing nothing this year.

Oh and one year I put a giant red double T on the roof, that was the most I've done as far as Christmas lights lol.

Here's a few pics from the nature in lights at Belton Lake. Forgot camera at the house so i just snappped a few with the phone. Took the family tonight, 70 degree weather, couldn't have asked for a better night. Kids had the chairs set up in the back of the truck and momma had her toy poodles in the cab with us. Good times this holiday season.

When i lived in Tucson we had a little neighborhood that was hard core decorators.

Winterheaven.

http://www.winterhavenfestival.org/index.html

So hard core, when you buy a home there part of the agreement with the HOA is you MUST decorate, they do hay rides, drive through and walk nights all month.

I used to have to install cable in that area and man i hated it at that time of the year. During the day theres no traffic, but trying to hang cable, service the system with all the random lights hung on everything was a nighmare.

Plus you didnt dare drive near that place after 5pm when the sun was setting LOL

They have a great display Dusty. I think I've even met them. The Christmas light crazies in Texas are a pretty tight group. You ever see the Frisco downtown show?

Simply amazing. Can't imagine the time and money y'all invest in those type of displays
