Sad day around here as its almost 70 degrees and sunny. Would love to be cruising on the water, but boat has been winterized and put in storage this morning.

60 will shrivel you? 80 air temp and 60 water requires no more than a neoprene shirt for me! When the water gets into the 50's I'm throwing the full wetsuit on and anything below that is drysuit. Funny how geography changes people's tolerances so much. I can't imagine what kind of temps the Canadians can take!

And does it really ever get that cold in TX??

Mikey
12-07-2012, 09:52 PM
I believe a cold front for them ...means having to put on a light coat and pants ,not shorts. Sadly i don,t have a pic at the moment of my boat buried in snow in the back yard...OBTW today was a nice day. Snow melting slightly and sloppy roads etc. Just think only5 plus more months of this.

I can only speak for myself (friends think I'm insane) but I really do try to get 6 months of skiing in! Boat goes in water May 1st and last run on or near Halloween (Oct 31) if possible? WOrk schedule sometimes disrupts the end of season date!

I have garage envy but Russ already knows this... Not too many guys can stuff a 24ft boat AND a suburban AND a car in their garage along with all their other crap!

We got skunked here once again. But just 15 min up the road we can get to about 1500ft and it is a winter wonderland up there of course.

28 tonight in Atlanta. Went and winterized the boat this afternoon. I have been holding out and just waiting for one more nice day, looks like I have to just accept the fact that its not going to get warm again for a while. Anyway I have big plans for the boat next year. I will be posting some pictures of a new project I'm working on. This is going to be a true automatic ballast system, no more valves and no more rocker switches. This should be fun.

I might take you up on that. I work for a machine automation company and plan on writing some code and adding a touch screen to the boat this year for the ballast system, much like the new high end boats have.

I will more than likely need some help when it comes to drilling through hull fittings into the bottom of the boat. The support I need is moral support and maybe someone to have a few drinks with before i actually pick up the drill.

Forget skiing. Since you're already driving on the snow, get a tower hooked up to that bed and do a little 4wd snowboarding. Or try your wakeboard. Only problem there is your feet might get cold real fast.

Only question, does one need a spotter on dry land?
