rub rail

I did a search and could not find anything on this topic.

What is the best/correct way to install a rub rail insert for a 99 mobius?

redmobius, i replaced my entire rubrail, not just the insert. it was a job...

but on the insert the best way i found was to soak the insert in hot water in the bathtub with some dish soap. that allows it to slid in very easy and makes it soft.

I replaced the insert by laying the lower edge in the groove, then hitting the top edge with a rubber hammer. Worked it around the boat like that.

The hot water, soap method sounds better.
