It's been tough to keep up with it all! I was killin' em last late night while watching football. Looks like they got me in my sleep. Guess I need to do like I did at the TX Jam when Dusty was around and sleep with one eye open. And, I don't mean my 3rd eye.

Need to have a two day delay on new members or get administrator approval before they can post then maybe some of these people would go away. Sucks for a real newbie but they can wait to get on board.

In many if not most cases the spam is coming from automated bots (scripts, batch, files etc). Sometimes an account is created and posts are injected into the forum immediately. Sometimes it can be a few days before we see posts.

We're not the only ones here as a few truck sites I frequent are getting hit as well and my company's site has been getting hammered all week with garbage.

It seems like a fire wall could be done as they all have something in common. They all are registering their first post and I would think that a two day delay would not register in their software to come back with name and password in hand.

I hate those overlay screens that have been showing up everywhere. Some don't even have an "X" out ability.

it's a tad bit out of control for sure. hopefully these spam posts don't set us up with a virus on our personal computers/phones/tablets

The Moderators are blasting them as quickly as possible when they come up. I also just saw Moomba's web admins are looking into it this morning.

We had a flurry of spam activity about this time a year ago as well. Tis the season... :mad:

I don't know the life of a spammer but I bet many of them have ADD and making it inconvenient to get their first post in would blow their mind.
