View Full Version : Pull up the floor?

With my latest mod being new ballast pumps and bags for our '02 LSV, I tried to pull up the floor today and it was a no go. I want to get the new pumps and bags in, and running prior to having the interior redone.

After removing all the screws, the front area below the driver's feet is loose, but the rest of the floor didn't seem to want to budge.

Is it removable?
Does the floor have some kind of sealant?
If it does come up without a lot of hassle, will I have access to the valve and pumps underneath?

It sure looks like it should come up as the carpet seems to tucked or rolled around it, but I dont want to bust anything or be going down the wrong rabbit hole.

Thanks, Eric.

Did you check the screws back by the v drive , my obv 07 had the same layout and once you got all the screws it came out. It will allow you to plumb and wire but the pumps and valves should be accessible without removing the floor.

Pumps are usually mounted low right around where the tranny and v-drive live in the bilge. It's tight and dark in there - you may get a better view before you get into it by holding a camera down there and snapping a few pics with the flash on - from different angles. Will give you an idea of what you are going after before you even start.

I think I got all the screws out, but will check again.

How easy (or hard) did the floor come up?

Eric.

I pulled it twice, the first seemed to get stuck around the walk way area by the steering wheel.

Other than that pretty easy. Pulled it out myself. I thought mine was stuck but I wiggled it out.

ok, this is how my 03 was.

in pic 3, remove the rear side seats.
kneel down in front of the side seat and stick your head down in there looking back at where your knees would be
along the seat base i found 3 screws going into the floor
the floor was easy to lift once all the screws were removed.

so im thinking you have the same screws holding it down

+1 on this. This is how my 05 is too. There are screws coming in from the base of the rear seats into the floor. They are a little hard to find even if you know they are there, so look closely. I don't remember the exact count, but it seems like I remove three or so from the portside rear, 3 or so from the starboard side rear, and 3 more from the portside seat to the right of the "cooler" seat.

Thanks guys, I thought there might be more and hadn't considered looking there.

I didn't just want to yank and break!!

Yep :)

I'm wondering what you are wanting the floor up for though...there's nothing under there but the gas tank and a channel (carved out of the gas tank) through which a bunch of cables run from the helm back to the v-drive area. Not any space under there to install pumps I don't think. And there's no existing pumps under there as far as I know, but of course I have an 05 LSV. My pumps are sitting on top of the V-drive.

I'll have to admit that I didn't read the middle part of this thread, but I know that the gist of it is that you're trying to upgrade your ballast system.

i assume he wants to run the ballast hose and wiring from the front to the back of the boat.. but you all know what assume means
